Amawalk Live @ The Rust Stage - Resonance 9/16/21

In order to pack a proper punch for Rusted Rhythms Vol. 46, we felt compelled to team up with Phydra for a rambunctious hour of Drum and Bass anthems and rollers. Head of the @Danktronics record label, and having been previously featured through The Rust with his track "Exposure", the pairing could hardly be more natural, and Phydra's exquisite dive into the DnB spectrum hits the mark several times over.

Maneuvering from bass weight to melodic fluidity and back again, the mix is awash with rapid transitions, crushing breakdowns, and smooth-cruising liquid fundamentals. With clear control over mixability and a powerful and eclectic mix of tunes, Phydra's command of his DnB experience betrays the time and effort put into laying out a fluid mix with such demonstrable skill, and if it sent us into a tizzy, it's liable to send old fans and new ears into a full on frenzy.

Soaring into Brooklyn at terminal velocity from the Mile High City of Denver, Nestra's performance at BK Mirage landed in the dead center of a 12 hour marathon cutting-edge dance floor music. Known as an impeccable selector and DJ in her home city, it's no surprise that she hit the decks with extreme prejudice. After being boots on the ground ourselves for the ensuing frenzy, we're incredibly excited to host Nestra's recorded set in posterity as the 50th edition of Rusted Rhythms.

Stepping squarely out of the boundaries of her contemporaries sharing the stage, Nestra's hour in the spotlight featured a whiplash cocktail of breakbeat, house, and a dash of psybient attitude. The frenetic rhythms and the driving low end featured throughout the mix come from a deep well of talent, including the likes of Nikki Nair, Guau, and Sam Binga, with each track burning serious rubber out of each successive transition. For beat freaks in the mood for a percussive hailstorm with moxie to boot, look no further than Rusted Rhythms Vol. 50.

Corporate Thuggin' (feat. CTE)

Opening up the main stage on Friday of Wakaan Music Festival is up and coming bass duo LoTemp. With a blend of street-worthy, hip-hop-influenced bass beats that are quickly spreading across the scene, these two have grown tremendously in 2019. With tracks like "Big Sound", "Energy", and "Mr. Producer", it's no wonder that the Kansas City-based duo has turned heads in bass music. Their most recent single, "Reala", shows off their unique blend of dubstep, trap, and hip-hop.

Earlier this summer they made appearances at Dancefestopia and the Electric Forest RV After Parties, and Wakaan is bound to be their biggest and best show yet.
