R&S founder Renaat Vandepapeliere returns with his personal RV Trax series showcasing the sounds he plays on the dancefloor.  
Part four carries off where the other volumes have left off with more underground electronica and techno.

Veteran French producer DJ Oil has released for the likes of Blue Note (as part of Troublemakers) and BBE.  ‘Addis’ continues his explorations into sample heavy house with a hint of electro that made his recent ‘Bref Avenir’ album such a joy.

Halosaur is a new alias of Stephane Lefrancois another Frenchman who usually goes by SLF on labels like KMS.  Recording as Halosaur lets him indulge his electronica influences and get serious on his modular synth set up.

Tom Flynn has released  for heavyweight labels like Planet E, Dirtybird and Hypercolour.  ‘Avenue A’ balances deep mechanical rhythms with sophisticated piano motifs.

Healing Noises is up and coming French producer Marianne Novomesky.  Her track ‘Palm Tree’ is  dreamy, stripped down, funked up, sun-baked house.

RV Trax Vol 4

Tonight's show features music and a mix by one of my favourite producers, Liverpool based Simon Keat, aka Reedale Rise. I've been a huge fan of his emotive ambient tinged electro since checking out his videos on Facebook and Youtube around 7/8 years ago. Since then, he's gone on to release eps on labels such as Frustrated Funk, 2020 Vision, Where We Met and Propersound. He released his debut album in 2018, Luminous Air, on Kondi. I got in contact with Simon recently asking if he'd be willing to do a mix for our show, and he kindly obliged. I was initially going to play a few tracks before the mix, but going through the catalogue, there as just so many wonderful tracks, that I could have dedicated the whole show to just Reedale Rise tracks. So I hope you enjoy our Reedale Rise special, featuring music from the man himself, and then a mix, full of variety and great tracks. Enjoy!!

We are ecstatic to invite Tantrum (Taylor Wilson / @taylorwilson-6 ) to our Rotations Round series. 

Having spent most weekends immersed in dance culture over the last decade, Taylor Wilson’s no stranger to the potential in a meaningful dancefloor experience. After a few turbulent bedroom attempts, Tantrum broke into the outside world with Camp Paprika at Rabbits Eat Lettuce in April last year, and has since supported Moomin at Pray Tell, played Fulcrum and had multiple trips down the M1 to play at her old home base at Elsewhere on the Gold Coast. When not behind the decks, you may know Taylor via her No Touchies brand - which serves to represent consent - for everybody.

Taylor delivers us a gorgeously considered mix of warm and lush electro, breaks and techno. It's ready for the largest of rooms and has been making us yearn for the club. <3

Halcxn's fifth release, Pentium Trax Mixtape, brings together six tracks produced by Fantasna between 2007 and 2010 using software, MIDI controllers, and a Korg Electribe S-MKII sampler. The sample-driven songs – recovered from an old hard drive by Sebastian Mella – stand out for the incorporation of chords, pads and deep atmospheres and the constant house beats representative of the start of the millennium.

Pentium Trax Mixtape allows us to complete and appreciate Fantasna's musical pursuit throughout his almost fifteen years of career. The album features the tracks Xenon and Eida, initially released in 2013 on the Chilean label Diskosour.

The cover art is a digital collage created from analog pictures made by Fantasna at his home studio in 2007. They expose his creative process at the time.

Pentium Trax Mixtape will be officially released on October 2, 2020, through Halcxn's Bandcamp and will be available from October 9 on all streaming platforms.

Fantasna - Pentium Trax Mixtape (Snippets)

Following the stellar trip through Woo’s Arcturian Corridor, Quindi Records in collaboration with the Bologna cultural and events group LEDX, continues to explore intimate, inviting sounds with an experimental bent by facilitating the return of overlooked Italian duo Cabaret du Ciel.
Initially formed in 1986, Cabaret du Ciel’s debut album Skies In The Mirror was a low-key and extremely rare cassette release of spellbinding electro-acoustic ambient music created by Gian Luigi Morosin and Andrea Desiderà. A reissue on Hybride Sentimento in 2018 brought renewed attention to the startling music contained within this unique project.
The Breath Of Infinity is an album comprised of new works recorded over the past year, either as new pieces or reworked from old ideas with the assistance of Giorgio Ricci. Morosin and Desiderà’s natural instincts as multi-instrumentalists shine through across the record as they did on Skies in the Mirror , although these tracks were in fact composed as raw live takes using electronic workstations (with a little additional fretless bass provided by a close friend Giampaolo Diacci on “Different Suns” and “Climatic Variations”).
There is a crisp, digital timbre to the worlds Cabaret du Ciel shape out on The Breath Of Infinity – utopian pastures with an air of optimism similarly expressed in the first waves of ambient electronica. Folk traditions exert a guiding influence on the sparkling, ethereal melodies and full-frequency harmonisation, but this is music enamoured with timeless plateaus rather than hackneyed interpretations of the past, present or future.
It’s also an album of variety. “Different Suns” tumbles with a pastoral, elemental earthiness thanks to the interwoven rhythmic murmuring of percussion and live bass, while “Lakota” pivots in sharply rendered bio-mechanical formations. There’s a widescreen bombast to “Theatre Azure” which calls to mind mid-90s US electronica, while “Meredith” reclines in a blissful bath of plush 80s FM synthesis. “Sunset Parade March” has a distinct sense of propulsion thanks to its overdriven, broken techno rhythm and “Highlands” skips with an infectious energy despite not using any formal kind of percussion, but even in these more kinetic moments a preference for mellow musicality maintains the dreamlike mood.
Consider The Breath of Infinity l ike an archipelago, where each track functions as its own distinct island of ideas while being intrinsically interconnected to the others. In a similar fashion to acts such as Ultramarine (who appeared as remixers on Quindi 001), Cabaret du Ciel emphasise the musicality in their electronic music, shaping out an evocative, imaginative environment to idly glide through or attentively explore.
