Ophelia aka DJ Luv You is the host of All Kinds of Joy on Skylab Radio, and one of the folk behind LUNA ( @luna_blessings )- a show on LYL Radio, party and mix series. Drawing from the moon's energy; LUNA is a space for sharing creations from womxn, queer and non-binary artists.  We've been keeping an eye on Ophelia for some time and have been so drawn to the playfulness and joy exuded in their mixes and live sets. This one is no different as Ophelia takes us through dreamy breakbeats, deep and groovy dancefloor fillers and left-field housey numbers.

An hour or so of high octane Italo bangers and trancey numbers was recorded by Jack after returning from a vinyl dig with Norwegian enigma Telephones during his recent tour of Australia.

For this mix, Black Mannequin (@blackmannequin aka Iti Memon) has delivered a sonic mood board for his pre and post-EP sentiment. It’s a diverse selection of tracks, and is characterised by Iti’s always flawless mixing, and seamless tempo changes.

"I’ve woven together a lot of styles that inspire me; old, new and unreleased. There’s yet-to-be-heard Pocketmoth material, raw cuts from tracks I’ve been working on, and some field recordings layered with ambient textures I plucked from unfinished sessions on my hard drive.”

"As we continue our ever long winded hiatus from the dancefloor, we are happy to welcome a new group of producers to the label in the form of 00:AM’s fourth various artists compilation. Certainly not the only way we expected to come together this year, but we’re grateful to be able to cultivate another 12” to share with the world.

Across the A Side, we are joined by three artists who we’ve had the pleasure of hosting and playing with in Montreal over the past couple years. Alfredo92 of the Axces crew in Copenhagen presents ‘Tente Hjul’ which gets the remix treatment from Mr. ACTION SHADOW himself, Fett Burger. The result in something distinctly mechanical but not without a human pulse and a tear jerking conclusion. Fantastic Man then puts his own psychedelic twist on the hardcore continuum, taking the beautiful palette of his recent LP on Mule Musiq to the brink of insanity with ‘On The Run’.

On the B side we find two new friends to 00:AM. We have a mandatory “minimum of 1 ESB tune gets played a night” policy round these parts, and so its truly a pleasure to release his ‘Sequential Dub’. Nothing less than a future classic, it’s dubby and understated, but a little quicker than you think. And finally, its a pleasure to introduce 2wo2imes, who delivers ‘Immune’ a deep and driving excursion into the wormhole.

It’s a weird world, we miss you all, but we’ll keep doing what we know best, releasing and enjoying the music that moves us - no matter the time or place."

The amphibian music machine known as Bufo Bufo, an alias of Ben Murphy, has been making waves since his 2017 debut ep "What's That Noise?". The marriage of breaks, electro, house and beautiful melodies has since found the appreciative ears of many. Ben's keeping himself busy with solo work, is one half of the Escape Earth duo, an acknowledged musical journalist and an owner of a few labels. Please check the interview as there was a lot to talk about. Guest Mix #94 BufoBufo for Deeprhythms

Roy Mills' productions are tripped-out explorations into the outer realms of the dancefloor psyche. Always referencing 90’s UK sounds, Roy neatly weaves sound system experimentalism, post-rave storytelling and movement-focused energy into sunrise-adoring bass music and techno.

His DJ sets are both seismically bone-rattling and unpredictable; always twisting, turning and catching the dancer off-guard. He played in Bristol with Cando and Monika Tenaska before the world was put on hold and was due to tour Asia and Europe with his endearing sound.

Roy is a regular in the Rinse FM studios and has provided mixes to Chile’s JOIA magazine and Fake Rolex, Bristol’s Noods Radio and Sydney’s number one bass-leaning show, Body Promise.

2019 saw Roy debut a single on Andy Garvey’s Pure Space records. Shortly after, he moved to London from Melbourne where he launched his label Local Knowledge Records with Melbourne stalwarts DJ Mum and Issa, while also releasing his debut LP as a private press CD. Recently, Roy produced two EP’s, an LP, and scored a short film; all due for release later this year. 

This absorbing mix of contemporary dance music is the perfect start to the new year.
