Matthew is one of the brains behind the Bad Taste House Collective ( @badtastehousecollective ) parties in Meanjin/Bris, and the label Esoteric Exports ( @esotericexports ). This all-vinyl mix treats us to a delightful journey through some of Matthew's enviable collection - a trip through ambience, downtempo, dub, house and more - all wrapped up in one silky, dreamy package that is synonymous with his style.

Here we are with another episode of our international mix series. This one is coming straight from the city of Bristol, by Paul Wise aka @placid_88. Paul is a veteran of the scene, collecting records from the late 80's and kicking asses on the dancefloor from the beginning of the nineties, becoming legendary for his sets of 303-drenched acid and his reputation as 'The DJ's DJ'. Nowadays, with his new project, the "We're going deep" label, he's releasing "new music for the dance floor, your front room or even just your headphones". 
He has cooked a straight quality mix of deepness, merging spacey techno and uplifting basslines, with his recognizable acidic touch, and filled in with fresh tunes and unreleased material as well.

#017 A taste of: Placid (We're Going Deep)

The twenty first mix comes exclusively from Timo Rotonen aka Timo  Deeprhythms out of Helsinki Finland. Timo is the founder of up and coming @echocentricrecords, co-founder of collaborative imprint @coymixltd, as well as being head honcho and curator of @deeprhythms mix series since 2001. 

His hour long mix showcases many flavors of electronic sounds while keeping a slow dance club tempo throughout. Ambient & electro essences weave in and out of a bed of downtempo & idm stylings while slow breaks and acid lines come and go to keep the mix intriguing front to back. Don't sleep on this very special mix!
