This began as a student exercise in augmenting parts for a shoegazer style song. I liked what we came up with in a few seconds so I set up a couple mics, added a drum track and off we went.

Lane Arndt is a guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/producer living in Victoria B.C. 
A jazz guitarist became an experimental electronicist became a folk musician became an engineer/producer and sound designer and eventually turned into The Specialest!
Whether contracted to produce a unique electro-folk mash-up for those brave songwriters willing to admit to themselves and to the world that there is no reason to keep churning out the same old boring shit all the time or writing his own stuff or writing and sound designing for poetry, dance, theatre or film; The Specialest sound involves everything from fat synths, to banjo, to mashed-up and glitched out beats to glock, piano and guitars or varying sizes and shapes.
