This winter, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on Ambient, IDM and Deep Techno.

Artist biography :

“In the middle of the night, in the depths of the nocturnal jungle, you wake up. The leaves whisper, creatures of the forest are awake and wander around, you can feel the spirits around you. They are watching you. And the further you go, the more you can hear the sound of the drums made by our tribe. We are calling you to join the ritual.”

Verveine & Toé are part of Eyes Wide Open. A collective born form a deep desire to bring back rituals and sacredness. We create music and immersive visuals experiences, that allows us to connect to our inner and outer landscapes.

Jo Johnson has been releasing music and organising events since the early 90s. She is a regular performer at Freerotation festival in the UK, and organises electronic music events with Bleep43 in London. Her debut solo album, Weaving, was released on Further Records in 2014 and has been described as a modern classic.  Her latest solo release, The Wave Ahead, came out earlier this year on Brooklyn-based label, Mysteries of the Deep. Jo also collaborates with pianist and composer, Hilary Robinson, and they have a live album, Session One, on 9128.live (a sub-label of A Strangely Isolated Place).

“It's been a pleasure to spend time listening to someone else’s music rather than my own! I've been writing and playing out much more this year, which has been amazing, but it's not left as much time for listening, so it's been refreshing and inspiring to delve into some of the great music that's been coming out recently. Brittany-based artist Tabensi, with a mosaic of sounds he's particularly fond of. 

"Multi-instrumentalist from an early age, I developed my musical universe as a dj a few years back. When I arrived in the medieval city of Dinan two years ago, I started to work on a new label called Estuary Tapes. 

Inspired by Brittany coasts, the project was born in November celebrating with a compilation gathering artists I love. It reflects my musical  influences beetween deep ambient, dub and breakbeat. In the same time I also started producing and working with electronic stuff. My first track is available on this compilation with this new alias Tabensi. 

This selection is a little piece of of my sound ecosystem recorded during a rainy tuesday afternoon. A modern story with nostalgic and ethereal feels."

At the moment,
real concentrations are so small that they could only be determined by using the most sensitive instruments. However, trace concentrations can also have a negative impact on marine organisms - tumors, gene disorders. There is no complete clarity on the scale of the threat yet, but research is ongoing...
