He's always done it his way. On his own terms. Whether it was playing in heavy metal acts or brass bands, it didn't matter. Random Rab has always held his banner high. And on October 9th, when Release is... well... released, the electronic music industry will once again give the man his due and admit, "yup, there's only one Random Rab."

Today, we're thrilled to bring you the title track from the new album. The term "downtempo" belies the majesty, the utter mystical energy of a Rab tune. There's power and poise, subtlety and grace. The sheer intensity of a hypnotizing groove and his cool, crisp vocals carry more force than a thousand blaring subs rattling out the hardest bass grooves. The charts and charts of electronic dance singles can't measure up to the unfathomably deep intention this type of tune evokes. There's just nothing like a new Rab tune. This one is going to be on repeat.

For those of you licking your lips in anticipation of new Bird of Prey material, you're in luck--and "Science Friction" is just the tip of the iceberg. Torin Goodnight dug out a collaboration he and his good buddy Random produced a little while back, and it's our treat to give it away to you for FREE today. This delightful SubTropical number features a slew of glitchy, midtempo breaks and plenty of deep bass to put you in the mood for some serious reflection, or gear you up for a big weekend ahead.

As we've stated, this is just the fanfare that heralds more Bird of Prey material. His retrospective album Birds Eye View will be out June 10th, followed by a remix EP, Reconfigured, out June 17th. Both of them will be available on Addictech. And you can catch some live Bird of Prey sets if you'll be at Firefly Gathering, Human Nature Festival, or Gratifly this summer, as well as Birds of Paradise sets with Gibson.
