It is Monday the 2nd of June 2014 and we welcome Anthony Parasole from Brooklyn for the first time on the CLR Podcast. Anthony is a longtime employee of Halcyon, friend of Levon Vincent and partner in Deconstruct Music. He is a prominent figure within the underground House and Techno resurgence of NYC, known for the deepest sounds of those genres and for gracing multiple dance-floors home and abroad from Shelter to Berghain. Anthony has had a breakout year in 2012 with his track "TYSON" featured on the highly acclaimed Fabric 63, mixed by Levon Vincent. He also launched his new label The Corner with the release COR-01 "Tri-State" by Dj Qu & Nor'Easter, which sold out worldwide. Just recently he released COR-02 "Atlantic Ave" by Anthony Parasole & Phil Moffa to highly critically acclaimed reviews on multiple online magazines. Crossfire is dark, high-tension techno built as a duel in sound — two lead motifs colliding over a steel-framed low-end, trading blows between impact and release. The groove is locked, the transients are razor-clean, and the bass tail is sculpted for clarity rather than mud or hype.

The track moves like a controlled detonation: tightly wound build-ups, pressure-point drops, and surgical automation across the stereo field. Metallic perc, gated atmospheres, and morphing synth lines weave in and out of each other like opposing forces locked in a stand-off — aggressive, but never sloppy; cinematic, but never overdecorated.

Intent: a focused burst of energy for peak moments — a weapon for darker floors that still carries the premium, minimal, and intelligent DNA of the MIGU universe.

Chapter I — Fracture & Form
Within the first MIGU chapter, Crossfire is the trial by impact — the moment where everything forged so far is tested under pressure. Instinct (Basic Instinct), shadow (Nightmare), and light (Afterlight) have already shaped the core; Hexforge has given it form. Crossfire asks a simple question at full volume: can that form hold when opposing forces collide? The answer — and the final choice — lives in Never Look Back.

Stealth is a special compilation selected and mixed by Peter Van Hoesen. The fourteen track album pulls together his own exclusive material along with previously unreleased tracks from his closest musical peers. It comes in the form of three EPs (both on vinyl and digital), a digital download as well as a special mix CD. 

The idea here was for Peter to combine a mix album with an artist album; to marry his own music with the sounds he is influenced by. The cultured likes of Voices from the Lake, Mike Parker, Yves De Mey and Imaginary Softwoods, amongst others, all make the cut. “I believe less and less in the artist as a solo subject, whereby the ego of the artist seems to be the driving force,” he explains of the thinking behind this project. “On the contrary, I think we exist within a multitude of connections, who we are is as much defined by who is around us. Stealth is a little reminder of that.” 

Originally Peter intended to edit and remix the tracks he was sent from friends, but instead he allows them to play out in full as they knit with his own style so perfectly. The Time To Express boss here offers us a perfect window into his current musical world. It is one where there is a keen and streamlined focus on trance inducing percussive patterns (especially on his own contributions) and is where techno takes on a spiritual, otherworldly form that truly consumes your mind. “I really feel that a new chapter is starting in me,” he says. “And this project serves as a subtle announcement of that”.
