A Social State is a four piece indie rock outfit hailing from Scranton, PA. The band first came together in late 2009. All four members from A Social State all came from the collapse of three different local bands surrounding the Scranton and Wilkes-Barre area. A Social State combine the musical but chaotic nature of bands like Nirvana and Brand New, while encompassing the strong musical sensibilities of bands like Saves The Day and Manchester Orchestra, with sweet vocal melodies that are reminiscent of early Weezer records.
