A ripple in time causing a rift to open, a sunken and skeletal figure slowly marches out; their disheveled and frayed black robes still pulsating with glowing specks of flame; sand eroding and shifting out of the rift at their feet; their face unseen from the dark void of their hood."

The brittle voice touts.
Surveying its damage the figure returns through the rift with its words hanging in the air.
The  keeper on its knees gasping for air  repeats the inferrence of the sunken figures message of his past and future self:
"they're watching."
