Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 11th January 2021: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch390

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Following the recent success of atmospheric single 'Moonbloom', their new track 'Solar System' is a step away from minimalist choral storytelling, choosing instead sumptuous layers of shimmering instrumentation and fiercely intimate vocals. 
In a haze of electric guitar glow with dreamlike violin & sax, the song paints a picture of space, each brushstroke loaded with flashing images of yearning and defiance. Bursts of vocal harmony accompany the strong lead voice, telling a story of returning to ourselves and our bodies. With an accompanying surrealist video made by songwriter BEA, 'Solar System' searches for balance amid the swirling constellations of busy humanity.

Two brothers versus the machines. Clusters of Eyes debuted at Smugglers Festival 2018 and have since been inhabiting coastal Kent’s subterranean network of tunnels, honing their set of gritty electronica and robot-rock.

This latest track features guest vocals from Troy of punk/hardcore band The Long Knives.

Imagery of a dystopian post-Covid, post-Brexit landscape is set to an irrepressible groove - inspired in equal parts by The Fall’s ‘Blindness’ and Death In Vegas’ ‘Aisha’.

Orbiting is the first single from Fable's forthcoming debut album.

“Orbiting is quite literally and metaphorically, an observation of the earth from far away. It takes a great big step back and sees that everything is intertwined on this little marble hurtling through infinite space. In a world that's more connected than ever digitally, I can't help but feel we have been segregated in every other sense. 

Aside from the obvious isolation the pandemic has brought us, I wanted to highlight the breaking down of our communities, the ever polarizing and distilling bubbles of opinion thanks to the algorithm, and our society’s alienation from any kind of humane purpose. It's very much open to interpretation but I hope it resonates on many levels, and leads with a message of love and unity,”

Orbiting

This song relates to the beginning of February, the awakening of the land, reawakening of the psyche, entering into the sea of life, emotional landscapes. Outer landscapes mirroring inner ones.

It's part of a wider album called Wild Service, which mirrors the wheel of the year, the result having no set beginning or end. (Wider album release June 2021)
