Deylaman & Ferdowsi's Kaveh in Shahnameh

Deylaman is a melody model, introduced to Persian Dastgah music by Abolhasan Saba, with its most famous performance by GholamHossein Banan on a couple of lines of Saadi's poetry.

Here, a sketch is done on a solo Oud and vocals, as an abstract presentation of Deylaman's theme, on two lines of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh; where the story of Zahhak and Kaveh the blacksmith is being told.

The poetry meter and the length of the lines are different from that of Saadi's, as well as the way the melody unfolds itself, to picture something older; as old as the mythical world Ferdowsi has created.
دیلمان را ابوالحسن صبا به موسیقی دستگاهی ایران هدیه کرد، , و بیش از همه با آواز غلامحسین بنان روی شعری از سعدی معروف است.
اما در این جا طرحی آمده بر حرکت ملودی دیلمان ، بر دو خط از شاهنامه فردوسی در داستان کاوه آهنگر، که از شکل قبلی منتزع شده و به حالتی دیگر از بیان موسیقایی درآمده که بتواند به فضای ترسیم شده در شاهنامه نزدیک شود.
