i think there are endless possibilities for processing the vocal in different ways. for example, Korn would often layer up instances of the vocal track and do all sorts on crazy panning and effected to create some really cool sounds. i think that would work really well in this track

to me it sounds like the vocal is currently sitting on top of, rather than in the track. usually you need to make the vocal louder when there isn't room for it in the track. what i'd recommend is running a spectrum analyser over the tune and the vocal to see what sort of clashes you are getting, and considered rolling some of those frequencies out the track to make some room for the vocal, then it wont have  to be so loud. thanks for contributing to my group
