July 2021 is set to be the hottest one on record and Toolroom isn't ready to cool down just yet. As we inch closer to the clubs reopening, Toolroom is set to drop a brand-new release from Martin Badder who makes his way to the label with the killer record 'Dancing By Myself'.
A long time coming for the DJ and producer who has released records on Love & Other, Realm, Nervous Records, Strictly Rhythm and Crosstown Rebels. As well as garnering support from Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Gorgon City, Steve Lawler, Joseph Capriati, John Digweed & Sasha to name a few, it's no wonder why Martin Badder is quickly becoming one of the most prolific and exciting artists out there in 2021.

'Dancing By Myself' is no exception to this, the latest release from Martin Badder whose signature big room club sound hits differently. A track that exudes a classy energy with its thumping House groove and funky bass line driving the record from start to finish.

During the pandemic I created a four part mix series for Triple J that was focused around my inspirations as a DJ and record producer. It sent me down quite the nostalgic path of re-discovery. I believe the pandemic became quite a reflective time for everybody at home. Not just they were pining for a life before COVID 19, but it gave them a chance to look back and discover what they liked about life in general. Whether that be art, music, or even relationships. 

After listening to all of this music, I decided I wanted to try my hand and write a timeless rave record that not only made listeners nostalgic for the past, but excited about the celebrations we all have to come. “Miracle Maker” is the result".

Following the tragic news that legendary US vocalist Kathy Brown is fighting stage 4 cancer, we wanted to give something back to an artist who musically we have all grown up with, and respect greatly. With that in mind, we have decided to release this record with all profits going to Kathy’s ‘GoFundMe’ campaign to help pay for her health care fees. All the original writers have allocated all publishing earnings, with the artists and Toolroom also pledging all of their royalties, in the quest to get Kathy back on the road to a full recovery. The record itself oozes fun and good times, which is what Kathy’s music has always been about. Wh0, Mark Knight & James Hurr provide the backing whilst Kathy ’s iconic 'Turn Me Out’ vocal rides away effortlessly over the top.

After a series of standout releases in 2023 on labels like Nervous and Armada Subjekt, Carly Wilford has secured her space as one of the most promising new names in dance music. Announced as one of the ‘Future of Dance’ best producers in the world by 1001Tracklists and with shows at Glastonbury and Radio One’s ’Big Weekend’, she is firing on all cylinders right now. Here she drops her debut single on Toolroom, but her involvement and relationship with the label goes back many years.

Carly is an avid attendee at our ‘We Are Listening’ events that encourage women in dance music, she has completed 2 Toolroom Academy production courses and has signed 2 album exclusives to the label in recent years, so this is a real career highlight and success story that proves, hard work does pay off! Here she teams up with dubstep legend SGT Pokes who, for the first time in his career, lends his trademark, gritty vocals to a tech house track.

The record itself is a heads-down, tech house stomper! It has a real unique, original flavour and will be setting dance floors alight as we enter 2024!
