Russell Woolf's first boss at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Tom Murrell pays tribute to the media legend. Murrell hired Woolf in the early 1990s for the role of Resources Reporter in Karratha. Murrell was Executive Producer of the ABC Rural Department at the time and spoke to ABC Broadcaster Geoff Hutchison.

Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL)released initial assay results from the Government funded EIS diamond hole (ASX release 25 October 2021) which confirmed the geological model for the BHT/SEDEX style mineralisation at the Lyons River Project in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. This hole was funded by a Western Australian Government grant based upon the technical merits of the geological model. Funding of such holes is at the discretion of the Department, and is judged by a panel and was peer reviewed based upon technical merit. Dalaroo met these objectives and was successfully awarded this grant.
 
The hole confirmed the project has suitable host lithologies and the appropriate alteration style of such deposit. Importantly it delivered anomalous lead, zinc and copper values consistent with the style of mineralisation typical of these deposits.

Lyons River Assay Results

Geochemical sampling results at Namban near Moora in the West Australian wheatbelt has identified an anomaly with high levels of platinum group elements, nickel and copper.
PGE values of up to 97ppb and peak anomalous values of 642 ppm Ni and 226 ppm Cu were defined over a 1km strike length. This emerging anomaly, we’re calling Cattady after a local road, remains open along strike. 
Follow up 50 X 50m infill and strike extension geochemical sampling is now underway.
A third drone airborne magnetics survey has identified additional areas of interest adjacent to Metals 260’s Mallory anomaly. 
Systematic geochemical surveys will commence over magnetic intrusive target areas, once grain crops have been harvested. 
There is a lot of interest in this emerging PGE-Ni-Cu province and our results confirm the potential of the region.
This is especially exciting with the recent new Julimar 10 Moz Pd-Pt-Ni-Cu discovery, a strategic deposit of critical ‘green metals’ used in the creation, storage and transport of renewable energy.
