I am often guilty of tunnel vision while "being in the zone", working on my tracks - so I spent too little time scanning all the great work out there ... This playlist will at least not harm my possibility to follow others. 

By purpose a heterogeneous list with the common denominator that I liked these tracks. In many cases, each artist has many more fantastic tracks - all of which could be represented here. And maybe they eventually will! The main point, though, is that I can initiate the list and remember "Ah, that artist X, wow - I better take a look at the latest uploads there" - or why not earlier uploads.

“Just a Boy” is a haunting indie-blues track by Three Photons, crafted in response to a tragic local event. With raw vocals, analog warmth, and soulful instrumentation—including Jeff Roberts on bass and Andrew Borderick on B3 organ—the song captures the ache of senseless loss and the fragility of youth. Mixed with precision and emotional care, it stands as a sonic memorial: intimate, reflective, and deeply human.

This sad and devastating local story has been on my mind for a long time.... I'm reminded about this tragedy nearly everyday as I run along the Mississippi Blvd and see the memorial.

Song is somewhat inspired from the war in Ukraine particularly how the russian invasion has brought NATO members to tighten their links.

Ever since my personal discovery of the writings and musings of Terence McKenna in the mid 90’s I have been both fascinated & amused by a hypothesis of his that some have referred to as: The Stoned Ape Theory.

The Stoned Ape Theory: Pseudoscience or Psychedelic Origin of Modern Man?

Did early humans accelerate evolution by tripping balls on psychedelic mushrooms? One psychonaut ethnobiologist says: absolutely.

Let’s set the scene: 100,000 years ago, in the age before recorded history, our early hominid ancestors started abandoning the forests and traveling across savannahs. As they foraged in new environments, they began evolving faster, cleverer brains that eventually tripled in size. How did they accomplish this? One theory suggests that they unknowingly added psilocybin to their diet and tripped their way to high-level consciousness. 

The Stoned Ape Theory is a hypothesis by one of America’s most influential psychonauts, Terence McKenna. With knowledge of ecology, conservation, and shamanism, McKenna united his interests in his study of psychedelics. McKenna earned his degrees from the University of California-Berkeley’s Tussman Experimental College, and his extensive writings served as some of the West’s first exposure to the psychedelics DMT and ayahuasca. 

Though he died in 2000, McKenna’s lifetime of advocating for the exploration of altered states of mind still influences modern psychonauts today. The Stoned Ape Theory is only one way in which he attempted to shift the world’s view of psychedelics.

In August 2025, Sarah Golding wrote to me that she really liked my
instrumental track "Those Times Are Gone",
released 3 years ago, and was interested in writing some lyrics for it.
I was immediately excited by the idea, as I'm a huge fan of Sarah's
catchy and genre-spanning voice.
However, at first, I couldn't imagine how well it would work with a
pre-produced instrumental track.

After Sarah wrote the lyrics and we exchanged the first drafts,
it was clear that it worked very well.
Since the track got a new twist, thanks to Sarah's great lyrics,
a new title was obviously needed.
Now we are delighted to present our first colab: "Affinity !"

After collaborating with the amazing Nic Evennett before on ‘Feel the burn’, I knew that one day I just had to work with her again. So I wrote this for her one Sunday afternoon - and luckily enough, she liked it! Her voice and her lyrics are just perfect and have turned my original idea into something so, so much better. After our previous collaboration, I was so pleased when EllE (Cycle of Hands) agreed to work with me again on this new track, both with the music and vocals. It has not exactly been an easy ride and I have to admit that at times I almost gave up on it...but I am so, so glad that we both persevered, as '4am' has become something rather special and unique. Huge thanks to EllE. She is - and always will be - a star.

When Ren and I decided to create another song, we initially thought about creating something soft and ethereal.  Then I had an idea, to create something more upbeat…and to Ren’s credit, she went with it.  Before long, we had created ‘Northern Lights’, a track that is anything but soft or slow.
