The Icelandic electronic musician is a collective animal. He tends to gather in groups. In 1995 with the founding of the label Thule Records the first official herding was confirmed. Icelandic electronic music artists were united under one flag. Though, this particular label was not the first of its kind, they did have a certain agenda of reaching out toward foreign markets – thing rarely been done before in Iceland. The owners of the label bought themselves a cheap and barely functional car outside of London and drove around the city distributing their first release personally – while having to stop the car every 20 minutes to pour water over the engine to prevent it from overheating. That first release became a success and showed that electronic music made in Iceland had much to offer to the European market.

Thule Records was a gateway to Europe for many Icelandic artists. A platform of expression for young artists. After almost seven years of activity and about 70 releases the label went on permanent hiatus. It was a starting point for many of Icelands most renowned electronic musicians and is considered to be a pioneer in the field of dub-influenced techno music.

We are very excited to share Theef’s perception of Far Blue with you today. After years of work on these productions, he has now compiled an almost 3 hour long mix of his original and unreleased works.

‘Temporal Futures’ drifts through the shadows of time, weaving together fleeting moments of light and darkness. Each track is a glimpse into distant dreamscapes—some soft and ethereal, others pulsing with mystery and edge. From the depths of ambient oceans to the glow of cosmic dancefloors, Temporal Futures unfolds like a journey across forgotten timelines and fictional realities.

“This mixtape came to life while I was back on my island, Crete—a place where time feels slower, yet the landscape constantly shifts around you. The sound of the sea, the wind across the mountains, and the endless open skies seeped into the process. Crete's nature has a way of blending brightness with a sense of the unknown, so I tried to reflect that duality in the music. Some tracks echo the stillness of quiet nights by the water, while others capture the pulse of walking through old city streets or the wildness of the island’s more quiet and forgotten corners.”

A Far Blue concept by Theef - 'Temporal Futures'

This recording is from the first edition of L’Appuntamento, a series of open-air listening sessions initiated by Villa Lontana Records and Donato Dozzy in Rome. Each gathering pairs a vinyl set by Dozzy with a live electroacoustic performance by a new-generation artist.

In this first edition, held in the garden of Villa Lontana, Donato Dozzy opened the evening with a selection of minimal, folkloric, and acoustic-rooted records — setting the tone for Verde Prato’s live performance.

L’Appuntamento is an ongoing invitation to pause, tune in, and share time through listening.

The original album floats, but here it glides with intent: transitions stretch, rhythms smudge, and moments you thought were gentle show up with weight. It’s not a reinterpretation, just a different tilt of the head. The future and the past don’t touch—but in this mix, they pass close enough to blur.

Gilles Aiken, the Berlin DJ better known as Edward, makes shadowy club tracks with a surrealisticedge. He evolves his DJ sets with a sharp sense of groove but it's his cosmic streak that gives his music depth. Over the years this combination has made him a mainstay of the Giegling crew. Further labels he works with are Baby Fords Trelik, Pal and Fankfurt based “DieOrakel”.

Hailing from Gothenburg, @Arkajo a.k.a. Nils Krogh has risen to prominence through consistently superb output, both in his own right and as one half of Genius of Time, the moniker he shares with close friend and long-time collaborator Dorisburg (@alexanderberg). Having already released essential cuts on @aniara-recordings and @clone-nl 's Royal Oak imprint, his own ARKAJO label recently put out a joint EP, Void Pyramid, featuring both him and Dorisburg at their evocative and rhythmic best.

Patterns of Perception 54 perfectly encapsulates the artist’s deep, emotive and irresistibly groove-laden sound, which expertly joins together elements of house, acid and breaks with his own unique vision of techno.

El proyecto musical ATEQ (Florian Lepa) está marcado por suaves y recurrentes ondas de bucles electrónicos perfectamente integrados entre sí mientras se arrastra hacia su clímax.

Siendo uno de los veteranos del sello Giegling, fundado por Weimar, sus 12 "y más contribuciones V / A fueron publicadas en la impronta del colectivo. Todo lo cual demuestra el sonido de ATEQ con motivos increíblemente profundos y potentes, manteniendo una esencia melancólica.

Diversos esfuerzos de colaboración han manifestado la habilidad de ATEQ para interponerse entre el house y el techno dentro de paisajes sonoros minimalistas. Además, un show en vivo reciente junto con el virtuosismo de percusión de Samuel Rohrer ha explorado los reinos del jazz y el ambiente de vanguardia.

No es de extrañar que ATEQ haya valorado mantener fuertes lazos y, mientras realiza una gira mundial con su actuación de DJ y Live, también ha desarrollado una residencia y una estrecha alianza con Bassiani de Tbilisi.

Se puede decir que se ha creado la profunda base de ATEQ; Sin embargo, aún no se ha desarrollado a dónde llevará este viaje

Godfather of Icelandic Techno

For more than a decade, Thor has been one of the leading figures in the Icelandic techno scene – often dubbed as the „Godfather of Icelandic Techno“. The founder of the legendary Thule Records is well recognized for his finely crated deep minimal techno music. Beside releasing on his own output, his working is being released on the Berlin based Sushitech Records. 


The passion for electro and techno started in the early nineties – then inspired by the fast growing German electronic music scene. Soon the releases started pouring out on high-profile labels such as Harthouse and Elektrolux. Throughout the years, Thor has had steady amount of releases and remixes coming out and his music has been heavily featured on various compilations worldwide.

Thor has had numerous successful collaborations with artists such as Goldie, Pascal F.E.O.S., Tim Taylor, Exos, Yagya and the pop superstar Björk. In addition, Thor has remixed artists such as Bob Marley, Anthony Rother, Sigur Rós, Steve O'Sullivan, Exos, Eddie Matos (Mateo & Matos), Gus Gus and many more.

Recently his work has been released at the German label Connaisseur Recordings in a series called "Iceland Lost Tracks" and on Matt 'Radio Slave' Edwards new label The Double R, alongside The New York based label Strobelight Network, Crystal Structures Records And Thule Records
