It’s hard to believe it’s been 16 years since Throne of Blood Recordings began. Originally conceived as a platform to release vinyl singles from NYC legends The Rapture, the label has grown and evolved into a stalwart of leftfield electronic music and a launchpad for some massively influential artists including Daniel Avery and Bicep.

We’ve never needed an excuse to celebrate, but hitting this milestone has made us contemplate our place in the world, reflecting on the relationships that have made Throne of Blood such an integral part of our lives and our legacy as an incubator for tomorrow’s most remarkable artists. So we’ve put together a series of anniversary EPs that bring our past and future together on the dance floor. 

The first of four releases, Anniversary EP #1 features longtime friend and label collaborator Chloe Thévenin of Parisian powerhouse Lumiere Noire Records, label manager Max Pask in collaboration with Tigersushi mainman Joakim (for the first time since their killer edit of Evan’s Pyramid for Cultures Of Soul), NYC techno mainstay and Bunker affiliate Justin Cudmore, and Liona, a wildly talented producer from Ulaanbaatar.

Four musical points of view with one goal in mind: making people dance. And there’s loads more to come…

Drum computers, crispy basslines, tingeling pads, vocoders... sadness and beauty... These are the perfect words to talk about the music of Club Mayz.

The Belgian artist is an incredible creative boy : dj, producer, designer...

And for each of its projects, he draws all his inspiration from the 80s to create crazy and sensitive new things.

“Can’t Wait” is an electro hit with a strong bass rollin’ ARP. The 80s percussions, the leads & the vocoder give to the track a perfect Italo touch. It’s time to break the dancefloor !

“Gusto” is a beautiful ode to Italodisco and Life. The lead melody & the pads take the audience on a happy journey. Cosmic!

We are realy honoured to have the only one Mufti to remix this one. The wellknown Mexican artist bring to the original a darker touch, but always considering the Italo way.

Finally, we welcome our lovely Marcus Christiansen! The Swedish artist, supported by artist as Funk D Void, gives to “Can’t Wait” a perfect mixing between Cosmic Italo and Dark Italo ! Marcus proves once again that he has the sense of the dancefloor ! He will come soon on the owl label to reveal an amazing EP ! Stay Tuned !

PREMIERE : Club Mayz - Can't Wait (Mufti Remix)

It was the bond of bold friendship that brought these guys together - and of course a shared history of sub-genre juxtaposition and meshing. Both grew up on Punk, Rap, and of course the early days of Techno. »Still There« is their first EP together and thus of course their first for Live At Robert Johnson. It's a venture into the euphoric, psychedelic power of early Trance and Breaks mixed with the attitude and energy of EBM and Electro.

Starting with the moody slow beats of the title tune »Still There«, Y2C takes you on a journey to a faraway chill-out room in some dark yet warm and cozy cellar. Or is this place to be found in synth heaven? It could well be if you listen to those dreamy melodies. Melodies as beguiling as the song of the Sirens that seduced good old Ulysses.

Y2C pick up on that dreamy vibe but throw in that slight and subtle Trance-factor, taking up speed with »Romantic Squat«, dragging you into their very own romantic squat.

Next up is »Love Your Enemy« - oh yes, shouldn't we all? Icy claps with lots of reverb and a bass line draw you onto the dry ice flooded alluminum floor and there's no way back - especially when that strange break with that crazy sound makes you stop for a second and think, why did I stop dancing? Get back on the floor y'all!

The last track »Mairei« is indeed some kind of a lollapalooza ride, a very special ride. And no, it does not lull you to sleep because the beat created by Y2C here is a demanding one, a special which gets you going all over its eight and a half minutes. It's sheer bliss, you gotta believe it. --- need to change this part!

This is not a one-off novelty EP, it's a kinetic collaboration. Y2C is a force of nature, a force of RAVE/WAVE energy, with many more to come, a force to reckon with.

Partyfine returns with its next package of shimmering gems hot on the heels of the ‘Clean Drive Edits EP’. Carefully curated by main man Yuksek, the Reims based party label delivers a multi-track compilation of all original beats and beauties from a wide array of talent! Normally known for its ‘more or less disco’ brief, Partyfine takes a 
deeper, darker, and more exotic approach on this sixth chapter in their comp series.
On Partyfine Volume VI, there are artists who have been there right from the start like Get a Room! , who delivers a deliciously dark disco anthem that features CAR. Label head Yuksek drops two original afro-infused disco bangers on the comp, while Claap! gets ecstatic with a cut designed for those quiet but enigmatic early hours. Rubin Steiner turns the rhythm and the bass down deep and slow, while Polocorp 
(Polo & Pan) trucks on with the tripped-out exotica he is known for. Partyfine also welcomes some new artists to the fold like Patchworks (Voilaaa’s producer and member) with a track this is nothing but a pure house babe, and not unlike the vibe we are left with on Destino’s cut. Frank Agrario’s touch is low-fi and percussive, Plaisir de Frances offers up a hienergy club belter with vocoder in full effect, while Birdee’s delivery is probably the peak of the comp with its up-tempo shiny disco drop. Other new acts include Alex Blex, and the elusive African artist Francis de Francois. There’s a further new project 
called Ubaruh by Phillipi of Fatnotronic, with Villa closing out this collection on an uplifting vitamin jab of a vibe.
When the sun goes down, the dancers start to float, and the nights goes all trippy, this could well be the comp of your summer sundown. This party is fine!
