Semisquare Music is a boutique indie label created to feature the music of jenn mierau, Leon Louder, and Hollis P Monroe. It is also a collective of freelance artists and technicians.

Gilbert Le Funk is a DJ, musician and record producer.
 
Starting to compose at the age of 11, he got into music production in the late 90s, greatly influenced by the eurodance and house music of Paul Van Dyk, Bob Sinclar, Armand Van Helden, or ATB. Though later he would spend the day listening to more diverse music, from Stravinsky to Casiopea, Incognito or Frank Zappa, which lead him to learn to play electric bass and trumpet as well as setting up is own studio, where he would first work as a musical arranger for other artists.

In 2005 he was moving away from acid jazz and his label La Musique Fantastique was born, starting his Gilbert Le Funk project by making remixes for labels Delecto (CAN), Catch 22 (NYC) or Transport (SF) as well as playing some of the biggest soulful house music acts all over Spain. In 2006 he produced “Work It Out” for DJ Disciple, a track that would mark a before and after in his career, making him responsible for one of the underground hymns during that year. Later, his remix of "L.A. Girls" was premiered by Dimitri From Paris and used on the MTV series "The Hills". In 2008, "Afrikantastique" got licensed by Defected and Subliminal and it wasn't long until he became a major player in the house scene. 

A solid string of releases have followed since then, topping the charts "All About the 90s", "Something", "New Dawn" or the more recent "Wanna Be Free", taking him to tour the world as a DJ, playing venues from the US to Costa Rica, Russia or UAE.

Since its launch in winter 2004, Oaklands Guesthouse Music has established itself as one of the premiere underground house labels in the world. Featuring a talent roster of more than 100 artists, the label—helmed producer/DJ Mes (aka Jason Sutton)—has gone on to drop 70 vinyl and digital releases by artists from 20 countries. Defined by a catalogue of beats that bump, thump and pump, Guesthouse continues blending old and new school sounds to deliver diggable tunes to the dance floor and beyond.

Guesthouse was born in a time of underground transition. As the first wave of new school house was redefining the rules established in the ’80s and ’90s, Mes—the label’s A&R—sought to embrace both schools of sound. Merging the two flavors resulted in an eclectic mix of old and new beats that proved groovy, jazzy and always bass-heavy. Today Guesthouse is best known for featuring chunky, well-produced tracks are equally fresh and funky.

That fresh vibe has carried over into the label’s talent roster, which has showcased both acclaimed and little known artists. One of its most touted successes includes the breakout release Gramophonedzie’s “Why Don’t You,” a cross-genre cut that was licensed by Capitol Records but has sold more than 15,000 to date. Gramophonedzie joins the ranks of other established roster likes including DJ Sneak , Chris Simmonds, JT Donaldson, 1200 Warriors, Cosy Creatures, DeMarkus Lewis and The Sound Republic, the former house duo that is also a Guesthouse original.  

As the landscape of house continues to evolve, Guesthouse will move with it, staying true to vinyl and digital releases while dropping its signature, well produced party rocking music. The label’s consistent schedule of releases has proved that Mes and his lengthening talent roster are here for the long haul.

“We’re constantly dropping something new,” Mes says. “You never know what surprise is around the corner.”

Great Lakes Audio Recordings is the brainchild of label head honcho Mark Farina, creator of Mushroom Jazz and legendary House Music DJ. Since his days at Gramaphone Records in Chicago in the 90s, Mark has always been a creative trailblazer in his approach and musical execution. Whether it was making handmade mixtapes featuring his artwork or mixing genres to eventually come up with his signature Mushroom Jazz sound, Mark has built his career on presenting a very personal vision of what a DJ can be. 
Great Lakes Audio Recordings is an extension of that drive to bring only the best in underground music to DJ’s and the masses alike. The label’s focus is squarely on promoting the work of producers from around the world that share that funky, groovy, soulful, and Chicago influenced sound fans have come to expect from Mark.  The Farina sound will be represented to the fullest on Great Lakes Audio Recordings with Mark curating every release from the music to the artwork.  Label Manager Jerry Walker (AKA J-Dub) has partnered and toured with Farina over the last 2 decades and has joined him to help create this new space for producers, visual artists, and fans to join together to share their love of House. Drawing inspiration from the history of the DIY culture that built this now global scene, Great Lakes Audio Recordings will be firmly rooted in the spirit of the loft parties, warehouse raves, and indie record stores that gave birth to this musical movement.
The label plans to continue to work with artists from it’s previous incarnation (GLA) such as Demuir, Kid Enigma, Ed Nine, Jazzman Wax , Iban Montoro, Riki Inocente, Ed The Spread and DJ Sneak while also promoting the work of new label artists like Javi Bora, Andres Boned, and Todd Omotani.  We’ll also be bringing new merchandise to market featuring our amazing new logo and artwork from releases and events. Our social media presence will be strong and constantly updated with fresh content found on our new Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Soundcloud, and YouTube pages. The Barcelona based DJ and producer's influence across the tech house and techno scene over the last 20 years is indisputable. 

His melodic masterpiece "Diabla", released in 2001 became a huge global hit and DJ Mag's 'techno record of the year'. Played by house, progressive, techno even trance DJs, its release saw the Scot’s career soar to new heights! 

Other hits "Jack Me Off," "Bad Coffee”, "Emotional Content", remixes for Underworld, New Order, and Laurent Garnier, plus releases for Bedrock, Drumcode, and All Day I Dream, are just a mere snapshot of his discography. 

Seminal mix compilations for Balance Series, Soma's Sci-Fi Hi-Fi, and Cocoon followed, further cementing his place in dance music history. 

Still not content with conquering techno, Sandberg was mystery figure behind “Francois Dubois”, with releases such "Blood" and "I Try" named as a big influence for Darius Syrossian, plus many other leading tech house DJs of his generation.
