[en] “Play My Birthday” is my birthday party in musical form.
I invited artists who have been part of my journey in psytrance to create tracks that would be my gifts: each one carries a piece of history, affection, and shared trajectory.

This V.A. is an affectionate record, an encounter of worlds that have crossed paths in my sound and in my personal life. There are people who have been with me since the beginning and artists who came later to expand, add to, and open new eras alongside me. If my birthday party were music, this would be the sound of "Happy Birthday," and that was the intention of the album: to unite the beginning, the middle, and today in a single story.

“Play My Birthday” doesn't just celebrate my birthday. It marks a turning point, a rebirth, a new phase of my project and my life. And, like any good surprise party, this V.A. arrives with that feeling of:
“nobody was expecting this… and that's what makes it so enjoyable.”

Esse V.A é um registro afetivo, um encontro de mundos que se cruzaram no meu som e na minha vida pessoal. Tem gente que está comigo desde o começo e artistas que chegaram depois para expandir, somar e abrir novas eras ao meu lado. Se a minha festa de aniversário fosse música, este seria o som do parabéns, e essa foi a intenção do álbum: unir o começo, o meio e o hoje em uma história só.

“Play My Birthday” não celebra só meu aniversário. Marca uma virada, um renascimento, uma nova fase do meu projeto e da minha vida. E, como toda boa festa surpresa, esse V.A chega com aquele sentimento de:
“ninguém estava esperando por isso… e é isso que o torna tão gostoso.”

It has been one year since me and @mascalito dropped our first EP together. So I figured it is time to bring it properly to SoundCloud. The mini mix was here before but the full tracks were only on Bandcamp and the streaming platforms. That changes now. I will be releasing one full track every two weeks. Make sure to follow so you do not miss them. This first one is one of my absolute favorites. Funky melodies, heavy groove, and that hypnotic loop that just grabs you. Filip Mardberg and Fredrik Gilenholt are the two dynamic Swedes from Malmö who form the legendary duo better known as TICON. From a very young age both Fredrik & Filip were deeply drawn to electronic music, as they were especially intrigued on how music can positively change everything around you. The urge to produce their own music was strong, as they both had the same desire to express themselves through their own music, and so during the mid 90's their journey into music started when they both started tampering around with their computers making music from 1995.

TICON was officially born in 1998, which happens to be around the same time when the psychedelic music culture started introducing its psychedelic progressive trance sound. This also happens to be why TICON has always been considered as some of the initial few artists who all actively played vital roles in the development of the psy-progressive trance sound. It was due to their deep understanding and previous knowledge of electronic music, that the TICON project rapidly took shape. The main source of inspiration behind TICON has always been to create something fresh, something new, something that allows them to focus on expressing their inner emotion through their music. The trademark of their sound is best described as a brilliant blend of various electronic music styles that is carried by their deep understanding for intelligent electronic music. Their sound is emotionally charged, and driven by a ton of force which reflects their passion for music as well as their dynamic energy as a duo, with the aim to simply mesmerize dance floors.

Their 6th studio album was released in 2016, which affirmed their position as one of the most respected, true psy-progressive trance artists today. TICON’s illustrious career spans across an impressive two decades already, with a ton of timeless releases that has placed them in a league of their own. With their undoubted talented, charisma and dynamic music they are set to comfortably remain one of the most sought after psy-progressive duos on the planet.
