"One of the hardest thing as a musician is to maintain this naive, almost utopian and emotional approach to our music. Especially when it comes to a highly codified genre like Electronic music which appeared in the late 80s/early 90s like a promise of a bright future for music, everything sounding so fresh and revolutionary. Garzen Jukebox #23 - BĘÃTFÓØT &  Anna Butter

Split release by Piper Spray and Lena Tsibizova — two musicians whose sound can be described as bedroom electronics or low-fi ambient. Lena and Piper Spray are also members of the Air Krew collective along with their third bandmate Sergey Podluzhny, who is on mastering duties for this record.

Following the first track’s title, the album begins with a nostalgic synthesizer melody which pours on the listener like rays of the midday sun, bringing forward recollections of a pleasant half-forgotten time. However, memory not only holds the serene and nostalgic — it can also evoke painful and anxious images or even mislead its carrier by synthesizing new details and meanings.

The album seems to be transforming in a similar pattern. Arrhythmic beats, glitchy effects and faint voices — like spores of the unconsciousness that break through shallow sleep and fill the gaps in memory — gradually come forward, taking over the melodic element. By the second half of the record, the naive nostalgia disintegrates into distant echoes and the sound takes the form of a collage which almost sounds like magnetic tape experiments.

Despite the difference in tone and techniques, the two tracks here are not antagonists. They complement each other, presenting memory mechanisms and the experience of acute reflection in different colors.

The label’s 013 release says about itself by its number, showing you an imaginary OST for an unreleased horror movie by the masters of the genre such as John Carpenter, Mario Bava, George A. Romero and Sam Raimi.

The authors of the music "Noise From Beyond" are: the Japanese composer Jin Cromanyon with his suspense numbers, known for his work with Macadam Mambo; and the Russian villain Kind Human Being (vinyl releases on New Flesh and Fundamental).

“Noise From Beyond" is a 6-track musical crossover that paves the way to nowhere through sinister forests, rivers and mountains; hiding with a car in a deep fog of the night, you will still meet the dawn on the other side of the afterlife...

PREMIERE: Harmonious Thelonious - Ta Ta Ta [Couldn’t Care More]

Freeride Millenium label founders Jorkes return with a pair of superb new originals that get fine remix treatment from Zombies in Miami and Benjamin Fröhlich.
This Vienna and Munich based duo co-run the wonderfully idiosyncratic Freeride Millenium, have a residency at Romantica, Stuttgart and also host a radio show with Daniel Rajcsanyi on Radio80000. Over the last four years
they have released exclusively on this label and never fail to cook up left of centre deep house, disco and more with a unique perspective. Here they kick off with the atmospheric 'Wet Dreams' which mixes languid, rubbery bass with bubbling melodies and crashing hits. It's a darkly futuristic sound with a pained lead motif that keeps you intrigued as you're drawn ever deeper into an unusual world of sound. Mexican live artists Zombies in Miami, last year turned out incredibly well received releases for Running Back, then followed it up with a remix on Me Me Me, and have also realised their dark and alluring club sounds on Comeme. They remix 'Wet Dreams' into a more driving cut with pounding kicks and bold bass strokes that ring out into the depths of space before cosmic melodic phrases loop up top to bring real colour. Jorkes then serve up 'Insomnia', which pairs smeared pads and scale-riding chords with dark and heavy bass. The duality between the light of the ambience up top and shadowy nature of the bottom end makes for a beautiful and compelling tension. German Benjamin Fröhlich is an esteemed producer who co-founded Permanent Vacation, the label on which he put out his Italo, house, electro, disco- and boogie-inspired debut album last year. His fantastic Italo Drama Version chugs on tooting arps and slapping hits, with the mysterious pads from the original adding a sense of narrative as you stride your way through the night. These are excellently produced tracks that bring interesting new inspiration as well as real dance floor clout on a release that once again features unique artwork by Daniel Rajcsanyi.
