Recorded in a small village on the Costa Brava – surrounded by seagulls, tramontana winds, and sea urchin-covered rocks – this mix comes from the laid-back Barcelona neighbourhood of Gràcia, where Parisian-born Antoine Harispuru, better known as Golden Bug, has made his home.

With a career spanning over fifteen years, Golden Bug has become known for his unique signature: drum machines in a haze of smoke, chopped-up sounds with a machete edge, drenched in delay – a raw, kaleidoscopic patchwork of electronica, dub, and psychedelia.

His work has graced  labels including La Belle Records (his own imprint), Les Disques de la Mort, Höga Nord, Gomma, Multi Culti, and Kompakt. This mix hits as the anniversary edition of Piscolabis II, where Golden Bug teams up once again with artists from around the world to craft a new series of aural excursions. From digital reggae to cinematic electronica with Londoner Simone Butler (of Primal Scream) and Brazilian artist Max Blum, to mutant disco with Franco-Italian musician Kim Giani, via slow-burning, incandescent techno led by the captivating voice of Greek singer Scarlett O’Hanna, and krautrock infused with dub in collaboration with London-based Phoebe Coco. These six tracks offer a bold and refreshing reinterpretation of the original album: a rich, textured sonic journey shaped by diverse and unexpected influences.


 
Among the selections, you’ll find current favouites like SAVE’s Rainy Monday — a digital dub gem from Marc Nguyen’s project on Ivan Smagghe’s Les Disques de la Mort, alongside recent discoveries like Blotter Trax’s Superconductor on Optimo.

Daniel "Blackbelt" Anderson has been a noted figure in the Norwegian dance community since the early 90's. A producer/composer of note, he released his early production efforts on Restructured recordings and Prin Thomas' first label Tamburin. As the decade progressed he began dj'ing more in Norway and building his skills, subsequently releasing music on Full Pupp (2 lps!), Claremont 56, and Trailerpark. He has numerous remixes on labels like Diskomo, Solar Disco, Zimmer and Grand Blanc records. A cool cat who has been spending time working on new material, we are happy that he dropped this mix for us.

Fetish clubs and festivals; dark basements and back rooms; disco pubs and super-clubs. Richard has done it all, globally. His authenticity, experience and 30-year history in dance music map out a unique story.

Former London graffiti artist, Sen, is recognised as an elder statesman, an educator and an expert on dance music. Richard is a maverick. Unpredictable, mysterious and engaging, his DJ sets always stand apart from the others. Sen has more music to call upon than most. His sets tell a story and reflect a deep understanding of dance-floor dynamics. His sound draws from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s influences and places them firmly in the present. Richard's genre-fluid selection seamlessly flows back and forth between: retro and future, dark and light, disco, Italo, deep and wonky house, electro, breakbeat and deep techno.

Sen releases music under his own name and previously under the guises of Bronx Dogs (1997-2003) and Padded Cell (2005-2012). His output includes singles on his own label, Darkness Is Your Candle and for like-minded labels, Klasse Wrecks and Public Release. Sen has also remixed respected artists: Bryan Ferry, John Grant, Unloved (David Holmes' band) and LCD Soundsystem. Padded Cell's music was used in the hugely popular video game, Grand Theft Auto 4 and the U.S. HBO comedy show Eastbound and Down. In 2012, Richard released a compilation, This Ain't Chicago, on Strut Records. The promo video was listed in Beatport's top ten house documentaries of all time. Richard’s most recent compilation, Dream The Dream on Ransom Note Rec,s was voted Best British Compilation of 2023 by DJ Magazine. Sen’s music has also been used by respected clothing brands, Moschino and Sacai to soundtrack their catwalk shows.

Richard remains passionate yet professional with impeccable taste. He currently has a weekly radio show for Charlie Bones' station, Do!! You!!! (www.doyou.world) which allows him to narrate his history, explore his vast collection and introduce his eclectic taste to a new generation. His debut solo album, India Man, was released in 2024.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of centre, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement: a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis, resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field.  This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.
