It began with a low rumble from all degrees of the horizon, and envelopment of portentous sound that seemed to emanate from everywhere and nowhere all at once. From high above, fluctuations in the jetstream whipped the clouds into a frenzy, stretching, swirling, and blending them into a slate of blackest-grey from within which thunder and lightning began to add their voices to the ensuing cacophony. As the roar on the horizon grew, the very air itself seemed to slip and surge around the sonics that cut through it, churning it from stillness into a great gale that nipped with icy jaws at the flesh of any caught within its flow. Then, as though in a perfectly discordant concert with the air above, the ground itself began to shake, roiling in opposite motion as the second wheel of a planetary mill set to grind those upon the surface into dust. From within the fissures that scarred the Earth’s surface poured rivers of magma that made a cruel mockery of the world’s aqueous veins as they brought death to all with which they intersected and poisoned the air with toxic gasses long kept locked beneath the earth. Those who strove yet to live within this hellish world could not but hear a single voice in their minds, chiding them for forgetting what had always been known, dooming them to watch as the ENSUING CATACLYSM consumed the world that had once been their home.

AGRESSOR BUNX stand before the EATBRAIN horde as the heralds of the ENSUING CATACLYSM as they deliver their second full album to the waiting ears of the label’s faithful. The 18-track span of ENSUING CATACLYSM features the full breadth of the Ukrainian duo’s unrelenting approach to drum & bass as they meld key aspects of its many subgenres to imbue their album with apocalyptic audio energy set to inspire fanatical chaos in even their most seasoned of listeners.

Millions of years have passed since the sacred Watchers created the angel and her counterpart in order to restore balance in the world. The Deep Dive brought back serenity, peace and everything that was being held back by imbalance itself. But as time passed, this equilibrium got weaker until the world fell to chaos once again. No memory of the Watchers was left except for inaccurate tales distorted by time, pen and tongue. And eventually, even those tales disappeared as civilizations fell and people forgot.

Until one day, a man discovered one of the Watcher's body resting deep on the bottom of the ocean. As the man neared the body, a droning sound started pulsating louder and louder. Unsuspecting and unaware of the creature's origin and nature, the brave man kept drawing closer, increasing the resonance until the giant started moving. He should have been terrified by the sound and sheer size of the creature, but was not. The last Watcher has woken up. This is the only chance to save humanity.

Immeasurable and vast it lay before them, the sum of its countless parts and processes – reality defined within its complex and elegant form as time unfurled around their intricate interaction. CURRENT VALUE returns to OTHERCIDE RECORDS for the release of his FAR LAYER EP, which displays the furthest expanses of his sonic realm in true devotion to its title. With his past on OTHERCIDE RECORDS marked by 2016’s Rethink EP, CURRENT VALUE’s recent efforts have seen releases on labels such as Blackout, Invisible, & Methlab Recordings. Now returning to OTHERCIDE RECORDS, CURRENT VALUE debuts a four track EP that carries his aberrantly innovative sound further onwards to new boundaries.  DISPELLING FEAR opens the EP with reverent string swells that soar alongside a ethereal vocal before diving at full force into the track’s torrential drumbeat. Within, they are twisted and warped by the volatile harmonic environment within into surging basslines and oscillating highs in equal measure. The titular FAR LAYER immediately discards with any semblance of convention, opting instead to create a an idyllic sonic landscape that hangs effortlessly in the air. Driven by a delicate piano arpeggio, the track swells calmly to a lush crescendo before fading into nothingness with similar grace. Following such a melodic interlude, FERROMAGNETIC provides harsh metallic textures which create an exercise in contrast, wrapped tightly around the track’s pulverizing drums for a devastating mechanical fusion. The EP then closes with PHOTOELECTRIC, which doubles down on the distortion of its predecessor with its dissonant bell tones and shredded bassline ending the look into CURRENT VALUE’s FAR LAYER with a decisive tone.  FAR LAYER thus explores a diverse range of sonic environments, from its most beautiful melodics to its most visceral basslines all of which are unified by the technical precision and otherworldly tones of CURRENT VALUE as they transmit via OTHERCIDE RECORDS.

10 years of Rampage has given us a fair number of anthems, all by the hands of Murdock and Doctrine. Both of them have had a stellar year with Murdock’s debut full length album dropping, with BBC Radio1 support from Annie Mac, Mistajam, Danny Byrd, DJ Target and Rene LaVive, and Doctrine hit the UK airwaves alongside DJ Fresh for his come-back track ‘Control’.

To celebrate a decade of Rampage, we invited some of our trusted allies to put their own spin on the anthems of the past years. Drumsound & Bassline Smith joined forces with Tantrum Desire to smash out “Fire”, Current Value adds his trademark flavour to “Acid Howl”, and Upgrade goes to town on “Arena”.
