Originally from Malta but currently based in Barcelona Spain, Jon-roy is a founder of Statix (Malta), member of Subconscious (Spain) and of MIB crew (International).

Coming from various backgrounds of electronic music, each of Jon-roy's performances and productions are unique from each other. His work is built on two main influences - being Bass Music (D&B, Dubstep & Garage) and deeper underground genres (House, Techno, Electronica & Chill Out).

Jon-roy has performed 4x at Outlook Festival and Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Mountain Bass Experience in Spain, Earth Garden Festival, Statix Festival and Sunscape Festival. He has performed internationally in countries like Malta, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria & Lithuania.

He has been featured on LetItRoll and GetDarker nights, performed various countries, and was booked alongside various international names such as:

The term quality over quantity is painfully overused, but in Jay Clarke’s case it’s a fitting descriptive for the way the UK artist approaches every facet of his musical career. A trusted Klockworks artist, he’s contributed two acclaimed EPs (KW18, KW28) and a track (‘Perdita’) to the KW20 compilation, while Ben Klock has selected him to play Photon events at Berghain, Bassiani and Awakenings at Gashouder.

From 2015 to 2020, Jay was a trusted fabric resident before graduating from their resident’s programme; a colourful and dynamic DJ, playing across the Techno spectrum. He is best known for his energetic and groovy peak-time DJ sets across Europe and beyond, taking heavy influence from 90’s Techno. He seamlessly blends together modern rollers with percussive loopy hard-groove, alongside straight-up heavy bangers. DJ Mag rightly heralded his skills, stating: ‘Jay is considered in his approach, but unconstricted by stylistic boundaries, happy to mix nosebleed slammers with heady rollers and even more upbeat or electro efforts’.

Jay also runs the thoughtfully-curated BLACKAXON label, a creative outlet allowing him to showcase sounds from across the Techno and wider Electronic spectrum, including releases from emerging talents such as Yant and David Piras, forthcoming releases from Kaylah and Alex Morgan, as well as his own free-wheeling work. 

 In 2020 Jay went on to release his debut EP on Slam’s iconic Soma Records imprint, followed by a remix of Goldie at the behest of the Metalheadz legend, with further releases to come on BLACKAXON and Soma.

Positive, hard-working and a gifted DJ and producer, Jay Clarke’s determination and unwavering passion for learning put him in a class of his own. Within a few short years Jay has established himself as one to watch and, with the backing of some of the techno world’s most respected outfits, he is on course to exceed all expectations.
