'7456. Live at Human Resources, Los Angeles' summarizes Fabio Perletta’s recent works 'Genkai' (in collaboration with sound designer for Pioneer Haruo Okada) and 'Ichinen', both released by LINE imprint, in 2016 and 2017 respectively. As it blends the two albums’ distinctive approaches, it reveals their contrasts in terms of hi dynamic range and aesthetics of hesitation, silence and instability. This live recording marks the end of a cycle of works initiated with 'Kaikō' (collaboration with Haruo Okada, 901 Editions, 2014), which ruminates on notions of presence, limitation, contemplation, patience and humility. 

Like the photograph on the cover, the music explores distance, proximity and the necessity to be emotionally detached to achieve balance. It is impossible to enjoy a flower if it’s viewed too closely, it will appear blurry. Like the photograph, the music doesn’t change, instead it exists in potentially infinite variations through its exposure to each listener unique memories, experiences, and perceptions. '7456. Live at Human Resources, Los Angeles' thus asks the questions: is there and where is truth? Are artworks really finished? Do artworks which artists create belong to them? Duality, inconsistency, impermanence, and paradoxes are themes Fabio Perletta is questioning and enjoys his inability or need to solve.

'7456. Live at Human Resources, Los Angeles' was recorded live on June 11, 2017, as part of Fabio Perletta’s VOLUME residency. His appearance was made possible with support from DE.MO./MOVIN’UP, II session 2016. MOVIN’UP II session 2016 was promoted by Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, General Directorate for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Suburbs, General Directorate for Performing Arts and GAI – Association for the Circuit of the Young Italian Artists.

Coming in mid September is an absolutely lovely, pastorally infused, first album from Enofa (Ross Baker), entitled, “Arboretum”. Ross had released a collaborative album with us a few years back under the name, Middlemarch. His partner on that “Wolf Hall” release, Dimitris Avramidis, also contributes to this new effort as well.

For Ross, nature, and the inspiration derived from walking among the trees in the park and nature preserve near his home, plays a large part in the overall tone of this one long beautiful track. Like the Arboreta, which are regularly crafted to contain a range of contrasting shapes and colours, which gives them a very unique look and atmosphere,  this wondrous soundscape of sorts, incorporating field recordings, moody guitars and synth, and electronic treatments perfectly reflects the calming and mysterious feel of the long and languid  glorious English days of the moment. Wind chimes…the crackle of leaves underfoot….the light, swirling wind in the treetops…the sun breaking through the clouds…put this album on and you will find yourself strolling there as well!

TRS078 will come in two very limited, physical versions. The first, deluxe handmade version comes in an edition of just 50 copies. Each of these comes in the form of a collaged, stamped and hand worked vintage art deco, tri-fold photo folder, w/original photograph. Within each are collaged, vintage arboreal prints, dried leaves, and other arboreal ephemera. Each folder is extensively hand artified, and comes strung with a stamped tag made from an antique British cigarette card. Each comes with an attached, stamped black envelope containing a factory pressed CD, held on with an obi strip.

There is also a hand made standard version of Arboretum in an edition of 50 copies. These come in hand worked and altered, black digipaks, also with factory pressed discs.

The songs on the album were recorded and mixed april – july 2020 in Moda, Istanbul. 

20 years ago I traveled by train to the south-eastern part of Turkey. The pictures in the album 
were taken of an ancient city located on the shores of the Tigris River in Batman called Hasankeyf. I was able to see this remarkable archaeological site before it flooded in 2020 because of the Ilısu Dam project. 

Despite local and international objections, this mega-project was responsible for putting 12.000 years of unexplored archaeological treasures, nature and local heritage underwater. 

This album is a dedication to the flooded city of Hasankeyf, in silence may you rest.
