Doozer immersed the audience in a dense, murky swamp of distorted guitars, where hypnotic drones, distant melodies, and buried rhythms intertwined. Out of the sonic haze emerged echoes of cult bands such as Swans, Oneida, Einstürzende Neubauten, Earth, Dead Skeletons, Sunn O))) & Scott Walker, alongside mysterious gems replete with mud and electricity.

VARIA is pleased to present the next episode in its podcast series, featuring Auspex.

Having cut his teeth in Brooklyn's warehouse scene, Auspex has become a fixture of NYC's underground techno community and a tireless presence in the city's queer nightlife.

His vision of techno as ritual, darkly throbbing, hypnotic and cathartic, comes alive in sets that weave long, mind-bending blends charged with intensity and release.

He has shared stages with artists from Phase Fatale to Rebekah, played NYC underground institutions like Unter and The Bunker, as well as Berlin's Staub, Pornceptual, Gegen, RSO, ://about blank and most recently Berghain.

Founder of Dominion and later the residency party ALTÆR at Basement, Auspex has created intentional spaces for discovery, reflection and queer community on the dance floor. Beyond DJing, his classical background informs his productions, with releases on Soma, Diffuse Reality, Mäinmise, Oath and more, alongside his own new imprint, Templum.

This episode continues VARIA's mission: championing considered electronic expression and lasting artistry.

Emerging from the Lisbon scene, the Portuguese producer Veiga delivers a four-track journey that blends broken rhythms with a futuristic, sci-fi edge. Driven by experimental instincts and a refined sense of sonic detail, this EP explores the unexpected intersections of synthesis and texture. Veiga push sharp soundscapes illuminated by flashes of distant, otherworldly light patterns that disorient, yet move with precise intent. From the coasts of Australia to the depths of India, Soop carves a sound that is deep, hypnotic, and uncompromising. His music is built on heavy basslines and driving percussion, evolving in subtle layers that shift the atmosphere without breaking the flow.
Hints of his heritage surface as distant echoes and textures, woven into a modern framework of dark, immersive rhythm. The result is a sound that feels endless yet never still - a continuum that pulls the listener deeper with every cycle.

Soop’s productions are less about spectacle and more about immersion: refined explorations of sound and pressure that inhabit the late hours, where time blurs and the pulse remain.
