This is a tough one for me.  In memory of my daughter, Deborah, oh how we miss her!  I included this song in a video clip for her 31st birthday on Jul 23.

Always

Over all the years Mattyboy's been around, I've piled music onto my hard drive. It was verses without choruses, instrumentals with no melody in mind, disembodied ideas that resisted attempts to convert them to full songs. Lyrics in the same way.

Every time I would open my DAW, I encountered the same hundred or so dusty ghosts, and starting a new project felt like throwing more poopie on the pile (consider this your lyrical rude language warning). But how do I get rid of them? I couldn't release them individually, they simply aren't good enough alone. And I couldn't just throw them away!

Well, OK, I threw SOME of them away :)

Anyway, the project is called "Angst".

As the title suggests, the lyricals are frequently and predictably dark, brooding, and self-absorbed, and the vocals were recorded in a somewhat rushed fashion, so the cringe-averse may want to skip straight to the instrumental version.

It is the amalgamation of these fragments into one unrelenting mass of half-cocked musical ideas paired with even less-cocked lyrical snippets. It's intended as one long song, not that I would feel bad if someone wanted to slice it up for themselves :)


Angst

Something about Autumn-the crisp cooling weather-skies seems clearer--shedding leaves just before the cold winter--the crops have all been harvested-- for me, it seems a little  slower and more  peaceful--natural process of nature and life--my mind feel more at ease--my body feels more relax--my favorite time of year
