Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, Dustin grew up listening to his mother sing and his father play the guitar.  He officially began taking guitar lessons (from Dad) at the age of 9.  In high school, Dustin toured the country with various non-profit bands working with World Vision.

Dustin studied both jazz and classical music at Pacific Lutheran University.  By the age of 21, Dustin was a private instructor on the PLU student-staff list and had amassed over 40 students.  

In 2002, Dustin was selected as a national finalist in Guitar Center’s “Guitarmageddon” competition for the best up-and-coming guitarist signified with a performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.  This notoriety helped launch his career as a professional musician.

Dustin is an accomplished singer-songwriter who brings an impressive resume of live and/or studio experience with national artists including Kelly Clarkson, Andy Grammer, Kirk Franklin, Allen Stone, Fitz and the Tantrums, Ernie Halter, John Elefante, Tony Lucca, Crystal Aikin, Jaime Jamgochian, Kid Sensation, The Seattle Seahawks, and more…  

One of Dustin’s bands (The BGP) was featured on America’s Got Talent (Season 6) on NBC primetime with roughly 22 million viewers.  They continue to write and produce music that you can find available on all platforms.

Prior to moving his family to Phoenix, Arizona, Dustin spent 15+ years building Winfield Music, a private lessons school where he taught a variety of musical instruments to students of all ages and skill levels.  As the founder and instructor, he spent over 50 hours a week coaching students and building lesson plans to encourage and facilitate their musical growth.  The annual student recitals eventually become more like *concerts* where hundreds of people (mostly family & friends) would come show their support for those learning. Dustin lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Trina and their three children.
