This track is comprised of a couple of motifs that I came up with playing through the Chase Bliss Audio Mood, which has become an integral part of my setup.

The music is only guitars, lots of looping, inspired very much by music I discovered while based in London, at various venues such as New River Studios (hence the name of this track), Vortex, Free Movements at Set Dalston, CDR at Plastic People, Cafe Oto, Servant Jazz Quarters, Power Lunches, Total Refreshment Centre, Birds Nest, Con Cellar Jazz, Waiting Room, Sebright Arms ....the list goes on.

Window In is Michael Vallera’s third full length offering on the Denovali label, following  All Perfect Days (2018) and Vivid Flu (2017).  

The four tracks that compose Window In are an exercise in density, movement, and space. Raw studio recordings of electric guitar were taken as the foundation, then heavily altered and manipulated through sampling, erasing the trace back to origin of the sound. The result is a series of vignettes that are unattached to a particular source but instead exist in an emotive and internal state.

Michael Vallera - Blue Mind

Ümlaut is Jeff Düngfelder, a U.S. experimental sound artist based in Queens, New York. The thematic concepts distinguishing his work are absence and silence; the ineffable exchange between viewer and image; random moments of stillness within a landscape in flux. The listener sets out on a richly layered journey into the unknown. With computer-as-instrument, fragments of sounds, textures and a warm palette of noise patch together. Found acoustics will tweak the listener's inclination to reflect and discover. Manipulation of sound seamlessly juxtaposes the digital world with field recordings. The universal assimilates with the personal. Sit very quietly, and when the scenery shifts, slip between it.
