I am a Bulgarian-Scottish composer and musician based in Latvia. I write diverse music for various ensembles, from solo instruments to orchestra - in 2022 my “Symphony No. 1” was performed by the Czech National Chamber Orchestra, while my short opera "Giant Slugs from Outer Space" was performed at the Munich Biennale in 2018. I also write songs for popular music contexts. My music is inspired by the numerous cultures I grew up in, combining florid melodies from oriental musical traditions with Bulgarian rhythmic diversity and harmonic and formal innovations from the classical tradition. Since October 2023 I have been working as the Director of Music at the Latvian National Theatre.
