This is my entry for the Orchestral Tools Discovery Competition:

I used 3 of the provided free instrument patches. The Wide Sustains and Tension Performer Overtones were used as as atmospheric elements in the intro and later parts of the track. The Klingon Choir was used for staccato choir shouts beginning at 0:30. The remaining brass and strings are mainly from Metropolis Ark 1.

The scene I imagined when composing this music was a group of astronauts exploring a seemingly desolate alien planet when upon reaching the top of a ridge, they are greeted with a view of abundant life on the other side.

Timothy Shortell is a composer based in Los Angeles. He has scored an assortment of films, video games, series, trailers, and other media. In addition to scoring, he has composed hundreds of tracks for publishing companies and labels. His music has been placed in thousands of TV spots, trailers, commercials, and TV coverage for Hulu, Paramount+, Prime Video, Riot Games, BBC, ESPN, ABC, NBC, CNN, FOX, CBS, Discovery, and various international networks. 

In 2022, he became the youngest composer to ever write custom music for a theatrical movie trailer at the age of 19. He received the Thomas Bergersen Grant for Young Talent from the co-founder of Two Steps From Hell and was three times awarded Occidental College’s Elinor Remick Warren Award for Significant Achievement in Musical Composition.
