He started two legendary Scottish clubs - Pure and Optimo, the latter a duo with Jonnie Wilkes which recently celebrated 25 years of global touring, outrageous parties, and communitarian activism. Phantasy’s long-running mix series returns from hiatus with a transmission from one of the UK’s most exciting DJs, Tia Cousins. Already prolific in soundtracking the most vital spaces of European nightlife and club culture, back-to-back sessions with the encyclopedic likes of Optimo and Ruf Dug have demonstrated Cousins’ own nous and knowledge, but her Phantasy mix and other appearances prove that she needs no co-sign. Drawing from the truly offbeat corners of dance music, Cousins’ refined, resurgent chug explodes into shades of Italo, EBM and electro pyschedelia from the likes of DJ Subaru, Pachanga Boys and Mono Junk.

Good Block are a familiar duo amongst certain circles. For several years they have been steadily releasing music inspired by the funk and balearic influences of the late eighties and nineties - fusing modern sounds with the sun kissed hedonism of the past. They've been generous with it too. Always keen to share edits and tracks with friends, their music has been the secret weapon of many a DJ.

They are about to release a new album - titled 'Window' the record features a collection of dubbed out downtempo and house music which shows a growth and depth to their sound.

Based in London the pair are also seriously talented selectors - having built a reputation for their eclectic, far reaching sets which move between styles and genre.

This mix is a masterclass in a warm, glowing type of dance music - the sort that makes you long for summer and serenades you into spring.

A (vinyl only) recording from a night fueled by semlor, cheese, wine, beer (and brand new Studio Barnhus merch) to celebrate the new offices of Every Night Studios - sweden's (and the world's) best print shop. I wanted to share a live recording that we have listened to multiple times in our home  :) 

Last year we spent some time in Bali at Potato Head (@potatoheadmusic). Alongside my night time gig I asked them if I could play a "sunset set" by the beach. Instead a biblical thunderstorm rolled through and we all huddled under the covers. 
Some records I have played before, some I haven't all of them special to me in some way.
