I would say "Circus EP" is a bit groovier than previously. I've been working a lot more with bass. Before, my music was more minimal with a shuffle techno vibe but for this release I didn't do any shuffle. I guess you could call this my new sound. It's in between tech house and techno. The bass is more housey anyway, but the energy is still techno.

Adam Beyer is back on Drumcode with an impressive array of tracks that will get the senses tingling and shows us what Drumcode is all about. These 4 tracks are deep and almost melancholic in their approach to techno, using effects to really help enforce an ambience only Beyer can achieve within his productions. The under lying throbbing of the drums drives this EP into the forefront of the heads down Drumcode sound and have been heard in many of Beyer’s phenomenal sets throughout the year.

Simon Maurice - The Beach (Ivan Martin)

Mark Reeve presents his second release on Drumcode, ‘Run Back’, a four track EP crammed with heavy hitting kick drums and his signature big basslines. The dark sounds and heavy textures are typical of Reeve and he’s showing no sign of slowing down yet. Four tracks of brooding techno, this EP is one not to be missed.

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!

After 20 years since its inception, Drumcode continues to push the boundaries, firmly grounding their position as the world’s No.1 techno label.

Drumcode’s youngest rising star, Layton Giordani, exploded on to the scene after his debut album “Where It Begins” back in February, after scoring some of the biggest festivals in Europe this summer, he now returns with an exciting collab titled “Live Again”.

NY born and bred, Danny Tenaglia has always been a true inspiration for Layton since his teenage years, so when the opportunity to collaborate with the fellow NY legend was on the cards, it was a dream come true.

Danny and Layton join forces for the lead track ‘Live Again’. Its deep and dark with a slowly building pad wrapping around a modulating synthetic hook. The dark and effected vocal echo takes the track into a hypnotic vibe.

‘Take It Back’ delivers a pumping drive the moment it fires up. Snapping percussive force and an infectious rhythmic groove will unhinge dance floors nationwide, whilst ‘Secrets of Vibration’ has a rattling, yet blistering low end presence to it.

Over the last 20 years, Markantonio has risen up from the Neapolitan techno scene to truly make his mark on the global scene. A powerful producer, electrifying DJ and label boss and manager of a number of vital outlets as well as being a shrewd A&R, his influence cannot be overestimated.

“My biggest motivation is to try to pass on the message of rebellion, diversity and uniqueness with which techno was born in the 90s, and of course transmit it to new generations,” says the artist who has constantly evolved throughout his career while staying true to his underground values. And that is what explains why he has been so successful for so long. That and the fact he comes at things from the dance floor so really understand what it takes to move the crowd as a DJ and producer.

A BPM and Boiler Room regular, Markantonio is often headlining the likes of Awakenings, Sonus, Cielo, Amnesia and many more, working his EQ and filter with real skill while serving up dynamic grooves. Meanwhile, his production career started when he collaborated with Davide Squillace and Marco Carola, and from there he has gone off down his own path, with his own brand of energetic, atmospheric techno. It has come on labels like Adam Beyer's Drumcode, Sleaze, Alchemy and Tortured, always exploring a timeless sound but from many different angles, moods and tempos.

His own label, AnalyticTrail, is an influential one that has helped shape techno. It has had tracks licensed for the Amnesia Ibiza compilation of the summer mixed by Paco Osuna and went on to open up his name outside Italy as well as build the national scene. As well as his solo works he has frequently collaborated with Rino Cerrone as well as working closely with the legendary Joseph Capriati and Mauro Picotto, and giving a platform on his label to legends like Luigi Madonna, Davide Squillace and Cari Lekebusch who are all proudly part of the roster.

From 2011 to 2014 he was label manager for Cerrone's Unrilis and Looose Records but also produced Joseph Capriati’s debut album on his AnalyticTrail. Markantonio’s own first album “Musichemistry” came on AnalyticTrail and was an ambitious affair that found the Italian explore everything from electronica to tech ouse and melodic techno, while an EP on Snatch also demonstrated his tech house skills.

To mark his 20th year at the top, Markantonio is heading out on a special tour around Europe that will see him play all night long sets at a range of special clubs, including back home in Italy. What’s more, the production future is just as bright for this enduring tastemaker: he has three big EPs coming on Unrilis, AnalyticTrail and Intec. One is solo, one with Lerio Corrado and one with Atroxx and they all reconfirm he is a leading light in the global techno scene.
