Through his lifetime the sage had traveled far, crossing both the vast distances of the physical world and the great expanses of his immaterial soul in the pursuit of divine knowledge that drove him ever onwards. The latest leg of this lifelong journey had brought him to a precipice in both of these locales and, taking a brief respite upon it, visions of divergent pathways swam through his mind’s eye. 

Each route lay now before him wreathed in flames that obscured with their cast shadows both journey and destination as lay along their course. Standing at the fore of each was a guardian animal, offering guidance through the trials of the unknown path that lay before the sage. A wolf offered its companionship and ferocity, a crow its intelligence and vision, a deer its alertness and grace, and a fox its elusiveness and cunning. Yet only one could lead the sage through all that lay beyond, and three paths would be left behind in the shadow of the great mountains that loomed before him. Thus it was that the sage tapped into the power of his own greatest strength, the INTUITION that had guided him for all of his life, and that would do so for all that remained to come. 

MYSELOR makes his EATBRAIN debut with INTUITION, an EP that unveils a new set of sonic secrets for the ears of the label’s horde. Within, the Greek DJ taps into the sensation that serves as the title for his latest body of work, deftly crafting the basslines within in accordance with its supernatural guidance and in following with the theme set by his releases “Rebirth” and “Soul Power” that have come before.

Radars at the ready! It’s time for a new target to lock sights on: Zaiaku
Fresh from causing major damage on both Ammunition and Bassnutz already this year, Las Vegas-based instrumentalist Zaiaku is already denting dancefloors on both D&B and glitch fronts. Now, with the ante factor officially set to up, the young producer makes his debut on A.M.C’s Titan Records.  
And we mean UP: both ‘Lost Identity’ and ‘The Defect’ are in a league of their own. Fusing spine-melting leftfield instrumentation with bone-shaking tech dynamics, both tracks will gobsmack your floor so hard you may face criminal charges. And so they should: Zaiaku actually translates to crime in Japanese. 
We kick off with ‘Lost Identity’. An icy mission statement from the off; it opens with a stark, paranoid introduction that comprises head-turning sound design and naked piano flexing (by Zaiaku himself) before dropping us neck-deep into crude oil tech dynamics. Galvanised with gritty, ever-mutating bassline the real twist in the tale comes mid-way as Zaiaku cracks his ivory-tickling fingers with such emotional ferocity some of your dancefloor may need emotional counselling after hearing this.
‘The Defect’ follows with similar crystalline uncompromising signatures. Igniting with yet another smouldering piano refrain that nods just as deftly at contemporary classical as it does drum & bass, it belies any flawed connotations the name might suggest. Slowly rolling out into a dark-stepping neuromancer that skips, stutters and gurgles its way into complex sonic oblivion, while once we might have acknowledged the emotional power of a track with a deft lighter-raise, this one requires blow torches.

In this second instalment on the recently re-launched C4C Limited, we welcome Kursiva, alongside the vocal talents of Hijak MC and the production talents of Transforma.

Provoke' takes on the traditional neuro-infused roller but with Hijak MC's signature vocals. With craftily distorted bass and rolling drum patterns, Kursiva slowly begins to build his track layer on layer, creating a cascading monster. Bouncing between breaks, Hijak MC takes you deep into a dark and dirty world, one that forces the listener to pay attention.

Juggernaut' gradually moves itself forward on cranking drum patterns and slowly creeping synths cutting through the mix, edging out its atmospherics and then crashing forward on its grating snare. Pounding warped aquatic sub undertones rattle each beat, resulting in you becoming more tightly gripped with every sound and layer. This beast of a collaboration between Kursiva and Transforma demonstrates C4C's contemporary standards and elevated understanding of the realm they reign over.

The habitat below was a mere dot against his retina, his imagination doing the work in constructing an image of the bustle of the many lives within. He carried with him the sacred resin, and carried within himself the rite of his people, handed down between generations for as long as their history could remember. His sacrifice would ensure the peace of a generation more - his torment would be their strength. Civilizations that had come before tore themselves into pieces - times of peace held the unspoken lies of restrained savagery, the bitter truth of which came frequently, and bloodily as brothers and sisters set upon each other with unbridled hatred. That dark ferocity was within him now, carefully extracted from the minds of the populace by the ancient methods, he was the vessel of his peoples’ catharsis. He hesitated a moment more, looking out to the distant peaks that had touched the heart of his eye since childhood, the gravity of the setting sun drawing his soul to the gold crested radiance of their summits. With a fluid motion he poured the resin down his gullet, felt it snaking through is entire being, searing the illumination of universal history deep within him. The staggering truths towered beyond him, twisting up in harmony before splitting, the many faces of darkness emerging, the true face of nature erupting in blackness, the unimaginable horrors that inhabit plains untouchable, the fiends that feed off life and light and invisibly, that grow in suffering… they felt his sight, knew they were exposed, their eyes turning inward to his psyche – tearing him apart, pushing through his body and erupting from within. The resin did its work… as the creatures unspeakable feasted on him across dimensions, roots burst from his ruined body, branches spiraling up trapping all in their path. A silence settled on the outcrop, nature threaded its fingers of wind through new grass, whilst the sun set against horrific merging of life and the terrifying living monument of DIVERGENCE.
