Hues has been rapping since he was knee-high.  Born in Queens, NY, he spent his early childhood years compassed with music.  East Elmhurst, the place he often refers to as home, was also the abode for several musical icons, from Louis Armstrong to Eric B (of Eric B. and Rakim), and many more.  Hughes's association with hip-hop music was much closer, though, thanks to the influence of the older members of his family, most notably his uncle, who also happened to be DJ Wiz of the popular 90s rap group, Kid N Play.  

When his family moved from NY to CT in early 2000, Hues would often travel to NY to record with V.I.C., one of the producers from the Beatnuts.   At Southern CT State University, Hues partnered with a group of friends to release his first ever mixtape.  The project generated thousands of  downloads within a couple of days with no marketing outside of email blasts. Landing him an on-the-spot meeting with an A&R at Def Jam.  A host of factors prevented this opportunity from materializing beyond a face-to-face, including broad-sweeping changes to the music business and how labels would work with artists.

Afterwards, Hues postponed rapping for awhile and enrolled online at Full Sail University, with the thought of becoming a music producer.  When he could no longer afford to continue with school, he got discouraged.  Following this period, Hues was forced to confront the demons that were obstacles to his success and invested time in soul-searching.  At the end of this retreat, he decided to move to Florida to distance himself from his past and embark on a new journey of pursuing his dreams.
