If Frisk wanted to atone for AG 5... then why not free the monsters from the facility themselves rather than using their soul to keep them  held?

Alcau tells the story of a facility far away from Mt. Ebott in which a new set of monsters is held after losing its own skirmish against humans. After managing to break free from the clutches of Mt. Ebott's Underground, our hero Nex finds himself in yet another holding facility for monsters where his life is at stake. He's quite a few miles off from where he used to be and quite a few memories off from WHO he used to be, but throughout his journey he'll regain his bearings, learn more about himself, and maybe even bring justice to a whole new population of monsters.

Despite being mostly made up of self-insert original characters, Frisk takes the role of Asriel in Alcau. Atoning for their actions beneath Mt. Ebott, they admitted themself into Alcau and allowed their SOUL energy to be used as a power source for the facility. Their presence is key to the facility’s continued existence.

So now that the series is coming to a close, here’s an interesting tidbit regarding The Past Catches Up. The five TPCUs actually line up the five stages of grief.
In Aftergore I, Frisk is trying to keep Nex away because they’re in DENIAL about what happened.
In Aftergore II, Frisk has resorted to great amounts of ANGER, and TPCU2 in turn has a much more aggressive tone.
In Aftergore III, Frisk acknowledges their actions, but is trying to justify and come to terms with them however they can, aka BARGAINING.
In Aftergore IV, Frisk is absolutely heartbroken over the deaths they caused, and they are in a deep DEPRESSION, hence the sadder tone of TPCU4.
And now, in Alcau, Frisk has come to a place of ACCEPTANCE over what they’ve done, and feel comfortable facing consequences and atoning for their actions.

What’s fascinating about this connection is that I’ll be the first to admit it was almost completely by accident. Stages 1-4 were planned without at all seeing any kind of connection like that, and it was only after connecting the dots that the theme of acceptance was decided for a fifth TPCU. Honestly, given the heavy themes of grief throughout Aftergore, it’s perfect. Let’s just pretend I was super smart and actually did this on purpose. But anyways, now the saga is over, all five phases are complete. I think the past has finally caught up completely, don’t you?

I know we mistakenly said this before, but for real this time: this is the last canonical installment of the TPCU series. 500 tracks is an absolutely wild milestone, so what better way to celebrate than by finally capping off our every-100-tracks tradition? We’re gonna stop planning specials for every hundred tracks from here on out, it’s honestly really annoying to try and count how many tracks are on our schedule in advance. We’ll probably do something for 1000, but that won’t be for a while. For real though, thank you to Toadie for the amazing work they do. I don’t know where I’d be without them.

Hi there, the other 50% of Quicksilver here! Honestly the past few months, years actually, if you think about it, have been such a wild ride. We're at like, 200 Aftergore tracks now? Like hot damn that in and of itself is a *lot*. We've still got quite a ways to go, Especially with Alcau added into the mix here, but we'll be able to finish things in due time.

Making all of these different iterations of The Past Catches Up has been kinda wild honestly, especially when we made the connection to the 5 stages of grief and how everything perfectly fell into place. I mean, uhhh, Slick *totally* meant for that to happen immediately this was planned from the start we even knew Alcau was going to be a thing yep uh huh real!!
In any case though, it's been really fun making these.

That's all I can ramble about for now, apparently there's a max character length for descriptions.

[Alcau] The Past Catches Up

Today marks the one year anniversary of one of our most important tracks, The Past Catches Up Mk. 1!

All of the TPCUs have been completed now, and that era of Quicksilver is behind us now. But on this special day we figured we'd give the "series" a sendoff with one final anniversary special. Thank you as always to Toadie for everything they've done.

Holy damn it's been a whole year since The Past Catches Up Mk. 1? I mean I know this whole daily upload thing didn't start until around December but still, that feels absolutely crazy at this point honestly given how fast things have been going so far recently. I'm really happy with how far things have come since then though and I'm excited to see where things go from hereon out!

Napstablook and Chara are co-stars on their own sitcom, "They and Them"! On the show, both of them are rather similar characters -- one of them just happens to be human. Both of them try to be the stoic main character, but both of them end up being the comic relief.

When they're not playing the part of the spooky Mx. Boggie Specta, Napstablook is generally speaking still their quiet and self-conscious...self. While for the most part they've used to the attention being a sitcom star grants them, and they feel a lot happier and even more confident than they used to, they still tend to prefer their alone time.

When not playing the part of the grumpy Mx. Angie Patell, Chara is generally fairly laidback. They’re occasionally more sarcastic, particularly toward Oliver. While their ghostly counterpart is sometimes a bit wigged out by the whole stardom thing, Chara seems to be enjoying this new lifestyle quite a lot.

The initial battle against the two takes place in the middle of an episode they're filming for the sitcom. Unscripted in nature, and highly unfitting for the context of the episode, but the producer saw an opportunity and decided to roll with it.

Aftergore Bergen 3/5 of the Royal March event!

Aftergore is a series of AUs taking place after Undertale's neutral endings, in which a new human enters in Frisk's wake.
Aftergore VI, the King Papyrus ending, details an ending in which Frisk killed everyone possible, except for Papyrus. Papyrus is the Underground's royal figurehead, while Flowey and Sans are the brains behind the operation, fighting for control over the kingdom. Humans are to be greeted with puzzles, whether they're good or evil. At least that's Papyrus's policy. The rest of monsterkind isn't too keen on treating humans so nicely, for obvious reasons.

Papyrus takes the role of Asgore. Even though Sans is doing most of the heavy lifting in terms of ruling, the pressure of royalty is still really getting to Papyrus. His kingdom is in shambles, his people do not listen, his brother is worse off than ever, and his royal advisor is being increasingly blatant about his megalomania. He strives to keep up hope, but even for the Great Papyrus, that's quite a task.
