The drill sergeant suddenly began sailing stainless steel food trays overhead, hitting the storage bins on shelves, crashing down all around because some guys were not performing at all in the kitchen. I was pots and pans and avoided getting hit. I just kept my head down, working madly but with a smirk on my face. I was one of the older draftees during the Vietnam era, 1968.
