Flip (Felipe) is a Brazilian-American house Dj and is best known for his energetic live sets and deep groovy studio mixes. Growing up in Miami in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Flip was influenced by the electronic music scene from an early age. Having attended Ultra Music Festival in 2002 he was introduced to many types of genres of electronic music and ignited a passion to want to learn more.

Always having an ear for particular sound he began exploring the world of trance, house, breaks and drum and bass. After sampling all of these genres, he found a home in house music and began playing at rooftop parties and events in Miami. Then moving to California in 2008 he began playing at clubs in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.

Working his way through the ranks he played at such venues as: Avalon, Yost Theater, Club X, Red, Spin, Bassmnt, Hard Rock San Diego, Hard Rock Palm Spring and Sutra. Then in 2013 during his first trip to Black Rock City at Burning Man he made several contacts and began playing for camps such as Trifucta, Music Savages, Slut Garden, and Beats Boutique. At burning man, he found a new audience that shared the same passion for underground music and for the past 3 years he’s been playing mainly at camp fundraisers, private events and other local California festivals such as Youtopia, Genius Loci and Bequinox.

Today Flip keeps his SoundCloud (soundcloud.com/flipmode26) audience up to date with new mixes and exploring fresh sounds. He continues to be involved with Burning Man events, local festivals and djing private gigs. He is not limited to one sound and continues to explore the ever changing world of deep house, disco, funk and underground house and push the boundaries. Stay tuned for what’s next!

Sabo’s music is a journey into sound, a sonic landscape that crosses several musical borders with mixtures of tropical poly-rhythms, warm bass frequencies, rich percussion, lush tribal vocals, and smooth organic textures. When listening you will undoubtedly find yourself resonating with his intention, imagining yourself dancing in an Amazon rainforest, on a moonlit Tropical beach,  or on a desert plane for a Saharan sunrise. Behind the decks, his innovative approach to each DJ set makes him a consistent stand out at festivals like Burning Man, Coachella, Lightening in a Bottle, Shambhala, Fusion, Symbiosis, and Further Future. He is also the label boss of “Sol*Selectas Records” which is successfully re-defining a new vein of dance music. It was the Top 10 Best Selling Deep House label on Beatport in 2016 and 2017, several #1 release in 2018 til present, and with every release breaking into the Top 10 charts of their respective genres. The label captures a wide array of sounds, drawing influence from our native roots,  and combining these traditional styles with the modern sounds of electronic music. For the unexposed, the Opulent Temple started as a Large Scale Art & Music theme camp at the annual Burning Man arts festival that takes place in the Black Rock desert of Nevada the week before Labor Day. We throw nightly parties showcasing underground, world class electronic dance music in a setting of art and creation we've made ourselves. Our community and fund raising events are based in San Francisco, and though our production is associated with the BM event, you can find us in many settings wherever there's fun to be had.

The Vision of the Opulent Temple is to gift a space for sacred dance to world class dance music. It is our intention to create the space for peak experience, community development, and inspiration that serves as a road map for what's possible in the so called 'default world.' The effort is self generated by the tribe, ie., no one gets paid to create our production. On the contrary, key members put a lot of their own time, effort, and sometimes money all year around to bring it back every year.

It's not just about partying.

It is our view that social change will not happen without individuals doing their part to elevate our collective spiritual center of gravity. Thus, it is our responsibility to nudge our own evolution to catch up with the outpaced growth of technology without the soul getting left behind. It's within this community of creative seekers that coalesces around the playa tribes that leaders must emerge to help steer this nation and this world towards a better day.

To create a space for Sacred Dance is to create a playground for connection with the Eternal, but in our case, still infused with the need for social action in the real world. Big beats and community are the launching point for insight to remind us there is a point to evolution. Transcendence, and nothing less. It might sound like hippy New Age shit, but in this case that doesn't mean it isn't true...

The Musical Vision
We're obviously firm believers in the beat, the transcending properties of mind blowing electronic dance music (EDM), both to open the heart and make the ass shake depending on one's preference and the moment. We value diversity in the range of world class artists that play our camp, as well as the camp dj's who build it so get to play what they feel. Most nights are fairly cohesive unto themselves, but day to day it can be all over the place. Our past line ups speak for themselves.

NASA defines the signal transmission from space craft to earth as DTE. We attempt to embody this transmission, become the source and reach out to new audiences. ﻿We here at DTE find the music we play and the talent we bring to our events just as exotic as alien planets. We hope to cultivate a positive impact here on earth via sound waves and experimentation in unique environments. We are DJs, producers, party people, ravers, gear heads, professionals, weirdos, dancers, bartenders and brewers who find life all the more amusing when the sound system is loud, the drinks are stiff, and the DJ is actually playing what they imagined they would play.
