She stood there in "the shiver ring"
That was the name we gave the ring
Our footsteps made in the snow, a circle of truth

She wore a garland of daisies
She skipped across the field

All these moments, like memories, slip away

Then She Wasn't There

Took a walk in the garden
As the day was starting
And the clouds were parting

I want to drink it
Not overthink it
Deflate or shrink it

Have I been been hypnotized

The Turning Of The Wheel

I wrote these three songs within a short time frame, not originally intending them to be connected.  But as lyrics developed, and the same set of themes wove between them--each song commenting on the others--I began to hear them as a trilogy.  I was waiting until an official album release to present them this way, but decided to go ahead and share now:

BEDEVILED (Star Spell #1)

I've been bedeviled, I've been besieged
I've been the supplicant, down on my knees
And if I told you, would you believe
Stars are falling from the sky?
And there's no time to say goodbye?

I've been blindsided, I've been bereaved
Too long adrift upon that sea

I'm staring at the sky
I should be falling down a well

Head full of stars
Signals from afar
How do they weave their spells?
Ride their swirling carousels?

Count all the things you lose
When you chose
And when you do not as well
Sometimes it's hard to tell

Solitary stars
Come ring the hours and

Tell me the tale
Of ships that never sail
And a place I'll never dwell

The alchemy of dreams
Too dear it seams
When you're wrapped up in a hermit's shell

A world of shifting clouds

An alien, an infidel
Too far beyond the pale?

Was there a star up in the sky

Was it the forest for the trees
When I missed you among the leaves?

The Star Spell Trilogy

The clock strikes midnight, pulse of the night
Tomorrow's a whisper, dancing out of sight
Forever is a canvas, painted in our dreams
But what is waiting for us is unraveling at the seams

They claimed the curtain fell, said the lights won’t glow
But every ending is just the beginning in the shadows we don’t know

When will we decide to seize this light so bright
Take control, chase the echoes of our fate tonight
For now, and forever, let the wild hearts soar
The life we want is waiting; let’s open every door

What will be will be, they say with a sigh
Our story is unfinished, don’t let the ink dry

The freedom that we seek is the hope we can conceive

The dilemma we face, oh, it's tangled and it's raw
The choice to break free is where our courage draws
