Polyscope is a music community based in Athens, Greece.
 
Convinced that the world doesn’t need another independent record label, Polyscope was initiated by Giorgos Kravvaritis & Pantelis Pilavios as a home for their own music and projects as well as a medium through which artists they admire have the freedom to release music in whatever way they deem necessary. 
 
The community aims to offer a platform to promote artists’ recordings through its growing network, together with an alternative way of releasing music independently. By not bending under specific genre umbrellas and with no commercially motivated compromises, its releases span from punk to free jazz, from ambient and drone to contemporary traditional, to noise rock and live electronic. All profits from the releases are directed to the respective artists, and at times are collectively donated to charities and non-governmental organisations.
 
Polyscope is not a record label. It is a medium for self-releasing music digitally and occasionally physically. It embraces total artistic freedom, cherishes the network it creates and acts as an incubator for upcoming artists to grow, release and perform new material and for disbanded projects to archive or re-issue their music.

Created honestly and with a punk attitude, motivated by the vision of being a space for new ideas to form and be presented without being dictated by profit.

I play clarinet, bass clarinet and occasionally other things, often with electronics. Tracks here are a mix of performances & studio experiments or 'sketches'. I'll be updating the feed soon, and releasing some material later in 2023-4 ...

Spotlight on Pop music home recordings (all done with headphones and limited mics etc at home) of some favourite pop songs as an offering! Their subjects are the usual pop music fare and made, hopefully - as pop music should be made - in a cheerful spirit. We should take a leaf from the Christian Easter message of hope and optimism amidst a culture of alarmism and fear. I will be adding some more over then next few weeks. I hope you enjoy them.
