Anyone whose served time on the dancefloors during Ibiza's more heady days will be up on the flavours showcased here: tribal-tinged, big room grooves full of congas, sax blasts and low, rumbling bass. 

Arthur and Laz met at MURKs famed Monday residency at Coyo Tacos Wynnwood Miami where Casanova is a resident and Baker a guest resident. Heavily influced by the 'Miami sound', I bet these sounds worked just as well out there as they do on Europe's treasured party isle...

Laz and ABs first joint collab is the opener "Makossa". It started off from a few 80s loops out of Bakers vast catalogue, with Casanova whipping them in shape. It’s been battle tested over the last few years, with the subtle play between breakdown and release ratched up super tight. Big smiles all round when this bad boi drops...

“Dale!” features the vocal and production skills of Murk's legendary Oscar. He added the wild saxophone hook and a few other nudges in a late night session at Casanova's little Havana studio, resulting in this fiery tribal house stomper that primed for mainroom play. 

Finally, "BTs Happiness" sees Baker pair up with old friend & ex-wife, Tina b (of "Rockers Revenge", "Tripping on Sunshine" and "Jazzy Sensation" fame) to do some vocalizing. A low pass filter squeezes a whole manner off funky house goodness through on this one: jubilant strings, rolling bassline and glistening guitar licks.

Steelmekker and Berliner by choice Haider returns to Will Saul's Aus Music label with a revealing three tracker called Dance Now, Cry Later. The EP does, as the EP's track title suggests, aim to be played out loud on the dance floor, carrying a deep note within those chords that create a misty almost nostalgic vibe that reminds one of the good ol' days when clubs were open, floors crowded and people losing their minds over the music. The timeless cuts maneuver its audience into musical spheres, which seemingly have been forgotten over the past months but remind one of putting the sorrows aside – for the moment or time dancing. Too Close, the EP's second track or Haider's second approach to Deep House music (mentally) made in Britain contains everything needed to pursue the beforementioned goal. With a creaking and thriving bass line Haider paves the way for intriguing chords that keep one moving in an endless loop that is enriched with vocals after minute three luring lovers of the deeper arts even more into the track's heart by capturing the listener's.

Haider's EP Dance Now, Cry Later will be released on Aus Music on November 27th, 2020.

Early 2020 Tom Trago established the DIY label Jong Nederlands as a vehicle for the improvised, straight-to-tape tracks he records every day at his home studio in Bergen, a sleepy town on the Netherlands’ North West coast. His intention was to surprise and inspire in equal measure, delivering emotive musical material crafted with a small selection of electronic instruments, drumcomputers and effects units.

Thanks to this ethos, no two label releases are the same – as listeners will discover when they tune in to this speedy sequel to JNL001, which hit stores early in the year. Opener “From Above” is poignant and melancholic, with bittersweet synth-strings, spacey motifs and bubbly lead lines riding a lo-fi drum machine groove, while the track that follows, “Young Janet”, offers warmth in morning-fresh musical sunshine via rich Rhodes motifs, chunky drums and sparkling synthesizer riffs.

Darkness, and late-night intensity is provided by title-track “You Deserve Better”, a mind-mangling, acid-fired excursion where trippy, razor-sharp TB-303 lines rise above tough but dusty drums and a suitably weighty bassline. Trago’s basement-bothering intent can also be heard loud and clear on the EP’s final excursion, “Passenger Seat”. Here he readies an imaginary starship for take-off, reaching for flighty, Italo-disco style lead lines, increasingly forthright motifs and the kind of crunchy electronic drums that have long been a feature of futuristic and far-sighted machine music.

Tom Trago – one of the leading lights of the Dutch electronic music underground, who defined the house and electronica sound of Amsterdam like few others. He is a globe-trotting DJ, producer, live performer and label owner who enjoys nothing more than championing both overlooked gems and fresh sounds from his own country. Tom Trago held residencies at renowned Amsterdam institutions Trouw and De School and name any prestigious festival or clubs worldwide – pretty sure he’s played there.

He once claimed that he felt a physical need to make music every day, and it’s hard to think of anyone whose immersion in music is quite as complete. Tom Trago is known for his versatility across electronic music genres, deep beats and grooves, and remixes for giants such as Depeche Mode.
