Beta Evers: One evening in fall 2015 I suddenly had a melody in my mind. I did not want to forget it, went to my equipment, created sounds and arranged a raw version. I wanted to add lyrics in German language and started to search for classic poems. I read Goethe, Hölderlin, Heine, but then I found that poem of Stefan George (from his book "Der siebente Ring", 1907) and was fond of it. I recorded the vocals and sent everything to Jeff, who worked out the arrangement further.

Jeff Gallea: Black Pond had developed into an amazing project. Beta and I wanted to have something a bit different for a 4th song. She had some great synth lines and German poem worked into a song idea. The energy was intense so the beats and sounds got harder and faster. The result was a dance floor banger with an industrial edge to it. I placed bass guitar lines between her vocal lines and really loved the effect. Unfortunately I don't speak German so I had no idea what she was singing! I just went with the feel of her voice.

I have been asked, by a producer, to do the cover of Funtime - Iggy Pop. A kind of exercise in style. A real challenge as this is one of my all time favorite song. I have tried to keep the power of darkness and to respect the original one as well as possible by an association of Punk&Techno&Black leather. This version is not intended for commercial use but for Love of this song.
