Lucifer's Lament -The Sonic Gypsy (The Wild Witch version)

This is another of my songs. I originally wrote this on a Fender Rhodes Piano. Then I started adding instrument layers to it. Hence the name Layers. Miss Shelby Lapre is playing the lead guitar on this track and I am playing all the other instruments and also did the drum program mapping as well. I thought it would be fun to listen to the demo version and compare it to the completed production when I get it done. I am currently re tracking this song with Chris Celleghin on Drums who is really capturing the groove.

I have always struggled with lyrical content on my songs, so if anyone has any lyrical ideas, I would love to hear them. I would just ask that they fit the genre and are not offensive.

Next up in the Sinchi edit series comes our long-time friend @Pedro-Martins-Music . The Portuguese artist is a connoisseur, crate digger and the founder of Karakter Records, an international label and cult dedicated to the hypnotic, rhythmic and intense alternative music.

We think you’ll recognise this one! Releasing back in 1985, it’s a stone cold classic and was written by co-founder Roland Orzabel. Many people assume its about primal therapy treatment but that is not the case…

Orzabel ‘It came out when a lot of people were still worried about the aftermath of The Cold War and it was basically an encouragement to protest."

Whilst co-founder Curt Smith added ‘ "It concerns protest in as much as it encourages people not to do things without actually questioning them. People act without thinking because that's just the way things go in society. So it's a general song, about the way the public accepts any old grief which is thrown at them."

So as it was in 1985, so it is today. Political or not, enjoy this fantastic 2020 rework.
