I wrote this song a while ago as an antidote to all those horrible, sick songs that started in the ‘60s and continued for a long time. One of the worst was “Seasons in the Sun” made a hit by Canadian Terry Jacks. It was originally written in French by brilliant Belgian singer/songwriter Jacques Brel as a satire and well translated by Rod McKuen. Mr. Jacks seems to have totally misunderstood the original lyrics and intent. Result…barf! Anyway, I wanted to write the ultimate sick song. So, you have a bloke with more or less everything you can think off going wrong in his life.
