Radiothérapie is one of the many coming upstarts on our radar. Born in the late 80s, he grew up under the heavy influence of synthesizers. His musical journey brought the german fella to collaborations with Thomas Gandey (Innervisions / Kompakt), releases on labels like AEON Audio, infamous Ritter Butzke Studio, Several Definitions "Recits de Mars" or belarus based "Bullfinch". Clubs such as Sisyphos in Berlin, Harry Klein and Bahnwärther Thiel in Munich, Voodoo in Tel Aviv oder his beloved homebase MS Zufriedenheit in Würzburg clattered already to his electronical selections. Now he is with us for one hour of power. Et ludos incipere!

Ahoi ihr Sprotten⚓️
2020 starten wir unsere Igelkarussell-Podcastserie mit niemand geringerem, als dem allseits beliebten Downtempokünstler éner. Das Rostocker Urgestein war letztes Jahr zu Gast bei unserer 🌀Bea(s)ts of the loony bin Vol. 6🌀… Wir schwelgen immer noch gern in Erinnerungen an diesen Abend, das war einfach eine magische Nacht - da sind sich alle Beteiligten sicher! Seitdem verbinden uns dieses tolle Erlebnis und wir stehen in regem Austausch miteinander. Als Projektleiter von Deep&smooth und als Teil der Faultierdisko-Crew, leistet er tolle Arbeit mit seinem Team. Die beiden Podcastschannels sind musikalisch ähnlich eingeordnet wie unser Igelkarussell, weshalb wir euch ans Herz legen, bei ihnen auf jeden Fall mal reinzuhören✌️
éner legt schon etliche Jahre auf, wobei er jedoch mit der Zeit immer mehr der Liebe zu Downbeat und Downtempo verfallen ist. Besonders runtergepitchte Housenummern sind ein Markenzeichen a lá éner - „Tracks eine komplett neue Identität zu verschaffen ist ein unglaublich tolles Gefühl“, wie er selbst sagt. Also hört genau hin, es gibt einiges zu entdecken…👂 
Sein zweistündiges Set klingt wie ein Liebesgedicht an entschleunigte elektronische Klänge. Mit eingebauten Spannungsbögen, derben Grooves und dem richtigen Händchen für Melodien verzaubert er die Zuhörer im Nu. Das ist wirklich eine ganz besonderes Musikerlebnis 😻 Vielen Dank für diese traumhafte Reise lieber éner 🧡

Eine schöne Überraschung 

Es ist einer dieser ungeahnten, ungeplanten und spontanen Clubbesuche mit guten Freunden. Man trifft sich zum gemütlichen Beisammensein, manch einer trinkt ein kühles Bier, andere vergnügen sich an der Sportzigarette. Aus einem hintergelegenen Raum ertönt elektronische Musik, wahrscheinlich legt gerade jemand auf. Ein kleine Menschentraube hat sich um den Tisch im Wohnzimmer geschart und starrt angeregt auf das ausgebreitete Brettspiel. Ich selbst husche zwischen den kleinen Grüppchen hin und her, rede mal mit dem einen, lache mit der anderen. Die Stimmung ist heiter und wird mit der Zeit immer ausgelassener, beinahe übermütig.
Mittlerweile habe ich auch schon leicht einem im Tee und genieße entspannt auf dem Sofa sitzend, die mir dargebotene Szenerie. 
Auf einmal macht der Plan die Runde, noch einmal raus zu gehen und einer nahegelegenen Diskothek unsere Aufwartung zu machen. Ich bin eher mäßig motiviert aber beuge mich dem Willen der Mehrheit. Wir verlassen kollektiv die Wohnung und stürzen uns in das Nachtleben unserer Stadt. Ungefähr 15 Minuten und zwei U-Bahn Stationen später sind wir am Club der Wahl angelangt. Der Eintritt ist weder übermäßig teuer noch ein Schnäppchen, Durchschnitt eben. Ich gebe meine Jacke an der Garderobe ab und presche mit meinen Jungs und Mädels ins Getümmel der Tanzfläche. 
Es ist einer dieser ungeahnten, ungeplanten und spontanen Clubbesuche mit guten Freunden, der in einer unvergesslich schönen Nacht gipfelt. 
Der DJ muss Gedanken und Geschmäcker lesen können. Jeder Track ist noch ein bisschen besser, als der vorangegangene und alle überzeugen auf ganzer Linie. Die Dekoration sieht aus, als würde sie direkt einem Märchenbuch entspringen und die anderen Gäste sind so herzlich, als würde man sich bereits ein Leben lang kennen. 
Es ist eine dieser Nächte die am liebsten ewig währen sollten und an die man sich nur allzu gern, lächelnd zurück erinnert. 

Aio trifft mit seinem Set unzweifelhaft den Zahn der Zeit. Es ist ebenso treibend wie abwechslungsreich, unverkennbar modern, enthält jedoch wohl vertraute Elemente. Wir freuen uns über diesen technoiden Ausflug und wünschen Euch genauso viel Spaß damit, wie wir in auch haben.

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
