For the 30th release on Sengiley label boss Denis Kazacov invites ten artists to deliver a musical potpourri the imprint has been showcasing throughout the years, namely House, Deep House, Garage, Breaks etc. Having a preference for upcoming artists or hidden talents "Capital Peace, Love And Unity" gives a platform for those again and therefore comes up with lots of fresh ideas and cuts. The master of (electronic) heart broken beats and bass Cabale delivers a melodically infused Garage-driven banger, which goes by the name of Do You Ever Feel. The French artist's piano-chords as well as implemented chopped vocals make their way hand in hand on a spicy bassline turning the track to a well-balanced meaningful deep cut that can serve for both: a night out in the club or late night tales for the home.

Up first is L&F, offering us some bass laden UKG badness, followed by Cabale with a tasty slice of piano and pad infused 2-step. Awlies comes through on a sublime and magical breakbeat tip, while Helter lands some twisted yet delightful breaks and bass business. Neathway & Alter hit the halfway mark of the compilation: a tidy piece of jungle action reminiscent of the genres 90s heyday. Up next is Withheld producing a soulful yet energetic drum and bass stunner, followed by Charleeps with a transcendent and acidy yet melancholic electro-breakbeat number. Aevasyon delivers some gorgeous, retro-tinged breakbeat vibes and Talihatta brings the energy down with some clever and subtle downtempo. Finally, Citizen Pablo rounds things off creating an ethereal breakbeat track, wrapping up this superb VA.

Clocking in next on Infinite Pleasure is French sensation Blazers with his newest four-tracker, ‘Midnight Resource'. Here again stepping up with a hotter-than-hot batch of his signature hi-NRG booty-shakers and classic house era-style shufflers, the Parisian-based producer treats us to an unrelenting orgy of jacking prog, ruff-edged envelopes and dusty synth swashes.

Encapsulating the widest array of Blazers’ playful palette, the title-track is as much a homage to the intoxicatingly sensual house sound of the mid-90s as it is an unabashed nod to happy hardcore and classic acid wares from the same epoch. A doped-up maelstrom of buoyant piano stabs, processed vox and fevered drum patterns on the prowl for some raving fresh meat, this one’s got club-destroyer written all over it. Further spacious and quirky, ’Stargazer’ has us tripping out to a slo-scudding tapestry of washed-out, Sino-flavoured keys, vaporous pads and off-kilter percussive work dipped in a thick sauce of acid. Weird tropical funk laced with ambient-adjacent, meditative properties, what’s more to ask for.

Flip sides and there’s ‘Love Hotline’ taking care of the more languid, hedonistic side of one’s fantasies. All in ektachromatic mellifluousness and soft-handed chug, this is house music at its most delicate and charmingly naive, bound to trigger off feelgood memories of coastal vacations and love-in-the-air kind of moments. Rounding off the journey, ‘Klein & Blue’ beckons us onto a further exotic pathway, where the gently enticing appeal of tapping drums, faux-organic textures and late 70s-early 80s discoid fun symbiotically converge to form an equally poetic and dynamic symphony of sorts. Sprinkle that with a healthy dose of xylophonic hoodoo and balearic riffs, and you get a helluva summertime choon, all set at blasting out loud in the open-top.

Ângelo Selvagem, to this day, a completely unknown artist and this is their first release ever. Their identity is wrapped in mystery, and their biography seems to be written with quite a bit of narrative freedom.

This single tells the sorry of a cat, drunk in love by it's owner, who felling abandoned on the owners birthday and after she flewing away to Milan to see her boyfriend, decides to call her congratulating ger and confessing it's love for her at the same time. The single here contains the Original Version, a shorter Radio Edit for the remote possibility of having some radio play, as well as 3 remixes from artists on the label: Diogo, Rabu Mazda and DJ Shperma.

The release date is set to the 12th of May!

Art of editing is also knowing moment to shorten as much as extend. Starting, GC take the elongated Jap-funk’n’breaks meets (On-U) Sound system bass and bring the party to the rightful spot.

Secretsundaze are back with their first label release in 2023: the follow up to Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange’s 2021’s 'Kreuzberg Kix EP 1'. The team is very much present and correct with artist WAYNE SNOW once again joining the party on the deep house trip 'Take Your Time'. It comes complete with a stunning remix by Secretsundaze long time fave, NYC based producer and DJ Jenifa Mayanja, and the jazzy, up-tempo, instrumental 'Bleached'. 

Lead track 'Take Your Time' is a warm and atmospheric balm with a driving momentum for those transcendental dance floor moments, elevated to next levels by WAYNE SNOW’s distinctive vocal. Jenifa Mayanja’s classy remix keeps the spirit of the original intact and raises the energy with a tougher drum workout, added sparkle to the synths and stretched out for an epic ride. 'Bleached' is classic ZFEX material with a driving and jammy vibe with Ziggy's unique drum pattern, and bassline all front and centre.
 
Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, headed by drummer Ziggy Zeitgeist of 30/70, are well known for their storming live sets, capturing the energy of dance music across house and more broken vibes whilst retaining their strong jazz funk influence and musicianship levels. This EP was written by Ziggy Zeitgeist, Spirit of Sundaze Ensemble’s Lewis Moody, Mathew Hayes and Wayne Snow.

Kreuzberg Kix EP 1 garnered wide radio and club support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Floating Points, Hunee and Moxie amongst many others and we expect EP 2 will find fans in the same circles.

Valya Kan self-releases a new track 'When the stars were big' on 2 June 2023.

She said: "This track is dedicated to my father. The artwork for the release I made myself."

Valya Kan is a Berlin based artist, DJ and producer. She had an album 'Dust and Haze' on Spencer Parker's "Work Them Records", out in 2019. In 2020 she released a track 'Ice birds' on Seb Wildblood's all my thoughts vol.1 compilation. She has been self-releasing music digitally since 2020.

Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
