And in the summer of 2013, Orjan Nilsen finally hears their call. The #32 DJ in the world and Norwegian studio wizard proudly presents his second artist album. Balancing the power of instinct with the endless options of play, Orjan Nilsen brings us: 'No Saint Out Of Me'.

Including collaborations with Adam Young, Christina Novelli, Senadee, Jonathan Mendelsohn and Natalie Peris, as well as mind-blowing instrumentals, 'No Saint Out Of Me' moves. Two years in the making, it is the long-awaited successor to his first, the 2011 debut album 'In My Opinion'. As a true artist befits, he proceeded his musical journey. Stretching the boundaries of his own imagination, Ørjan Nilsen discovered many new identities to be part of his own. And so, he started an explore them. Ørjan:"I think it was about time I showed another side of myself, a side I've been wanting to unleash for quite some time now! I would say that 98% of the album can be played live, which is quite different from the last album I had."

What hasn't changed, is Ørjan's infinite blend of styles. Pushing trance, techno, electro, pop and house, 'No Saint Out Of Me' takes an open mind. Through the endless diversity of tracks like 'Knobtwister', 'Mafioso', vocal beauties 'In The Air', 'Hurricane', 'Apart', 'Hands' and title-track 'No Saint Out Of Me', it tells you a story of liveliness, growth and endless creativity. And that's exactly what Ørjan Nilsen is about.

In the summer of 2013, Above & Beyond performed some of their best-loved songs acoustically as part of a 15-piece band, across four sold out shows at London's famous Porchester Hall which formed the basis of the "Above & Beyond Acoustic" studio album. The album was recorded in the spring and summer of 2013 and features a 24-piece orchestra.

"The acoustic project is a reconnection with the musicians that we were before we met", said Above & Beyond's Tony McGuinness. "The songs have been on an interesting journey to get here because we tend to write in a fairly acoustic way anyway. We don't just stick a bit of vocal over a dance track - that's not how we work. We try to start with a song and it's usually only later down the line that we take certain elements from that song and progress them into a more dancefloor-friendly version".

With Above & Beyond "Acoustic", the group are putting aside their CDJs and lighting rigs to showcase their deeply-rooted musicianship and classical training. A band first and foremost, Above & Beyond are songwriters as much as they are DJs. Working with three singers, a string quartet, harpist, drummer and bassist, Above & Beyond are pushing the boundaries of dance music. Tony McGuinness sings and plays guitar, mandolin and ukulele, Paavo Siljamäki plays the grand piano and cello, and Jono Grant plays the Rhodes piano, guitar and vibraphone.

If anything binds the tangle of styles that rock Orjan Nilsen’s productions, it’s energy. And there’s plenty of that served on his new one. The second single of his upcoming album is the shiny, big-room loaded ‘Violetta’!
Hot off the dark shaded ‘No Saint Out Of Me’, the Norwegian producer sets the tone with another 7 minute work of art. The pre-taste of what awaits us of his second artist album, the follow-up to the successful ‘In My Opinion’, is more than promising. It’s unlike any of his previous works, yet carries that unmistakable Nilsen sound. 

Building at a right speed, rapidly unfolding its melodic character and kicking in right after its break. That’s what ‘Violetta’ is all about. Another tune that deserves the Armind halo on top.
