There is a Japanese term: Mono no aware. It means basically, the sad beauty of seeing time pass - the aching awareness of impermanence. These are the days that we will return to one day in the future only in memories. How do we capture them? How could we possibly be able to fully appreciate them in the present? This project is our attempt to put time under glass.

The Midnight is a marriage between a songwriter from the Deep South and a producer from Denmark who both live in Los Angeles. This is our love song to our city and a testament to the weight these years can hold.

While ARUNA's musical path has been more a winding voyage of discovery than a straight line, it’s been anchored throughout by passion, grit, curiosity and fierce devotion to her craft. A Berklee College of Music graduate with a focus on writing and production, her initial aspiration was that of singer/songwriter, which ultimately led to her first major break: a song recorded by Miley Cyrus on the Hannah Montana Season 1 Soundtrack. Shortly thereafter, she found herself recruited into Dance music, quickly becoming one of the scene’s most in-demand writer/vocalists, working alongside some of the world’s top-tier DJs such as Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and Laidback Luke. Eventually the urge to begin DJing came calling, which culminated in the launch of her weekly podcast The Hot List, numerous club and festival performances across the globe, her own solo singles released on such prestige boutique labels as Monstercat, Enhanced and Anjunabeats and, finally, a reunion with one of her earlier passions: production. ARUNA has since left Dance music, embracing her roots in Pop/R&B, spending the past several years painstakingly refining her sound and honing her skills. A multi-faceted artist with a unique sonic signature, she continues to grow and evolve, bringing wisdom, heart and a clairvoyant sensitivity to her productions and her life.
