June's full moon brings a celebration. The summer mood has already landed, and we can feel the ecstasy, the joy,  the pleasure, the euphoria, ... and why not a touch of debauchery. These are the reasons why our 34th episode brings the most psychedelic and experimental set we have delivered so far. For the 10th International Drone Day, we are very happy to share Transience's 50th contribution on Cashmere Radio. For this auspicious occassion we have invited Menou and Paul Josef to join host Lou Drago in the joy of droning. Lou begins the episode with a new work that takes elements of a recent work Still, and reimagines these components in a more narrative form to take listeners on a journey, Menou's hardware synth live set comes next, full of emotion and enthralling the listener before landing in a Japanese melodic ending. Paul Josef's serene modular synth live set closes the episode with gentle swelling harmonics that leave listeners with a warm embrace.

The third of my three deep 4/4 mixes for EC in 2023 rounds off with a more Detroit feel to it than the previous two mixes. Dominated by the wonderful P0lyrhythm (artist) on Yore (label) with notable contributions from Delano Smith, Taupe and Gilbert.

It has been a pleasure to present this series of deep house/techno mixes, so thanks to Keith Anderson for giving me the freedom to present these sets. Next year (2024) I will return to EC with a monthly deep electro show, so lots of records to get through in the coming months.

All The Eyes That Hide In Plain Sight

This is the archive of our regular show on Cashmere Radio, Berlin. 

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing - or refusing - to fit the patriarchal, racist, neoliberal mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us.

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal. Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

Each month host @lou_drago invites an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate futures free from all systems of oppression.
