We're incredibly happy to present a very special Lobster podcast from multidisciplinary artist, DJ, writer and academic Ifeoluwa. The founder of INTERVENTION/Ipaadi Records evokes visions of the club, with an hour long mix that glides seamlessly through drum workouts and feel good pop and UKG bangers to tender synth lines, simmering electro and transcendental breaks.

For the three years I had a weekly radio show on Fritz, a public broadcast radio station in Berlin, providing a platform for emerging young talent and leftfield sounds from the global electronic music underground. 

The final episode will be broadcast January 29th. On January 21st I played my last on air DJ set, throwing together a bunch of tracks I enjoyed in the last few weeks, and just going at it. The result is a pretty wild ride going from 100 BPM mutant dembow to 160 BPM footwork and many styles in-between. 

There's one or two questionable transitions in the second half, mainly because the stations broadcast computer collapsed and I had to reboot that and continue the mix, but else I hope you'll enjoy!

A producer and multidisciplinary artist with links to projects by Optimo Music, Hyperdub and London’s ICA, Venus Ex Machina inhabits the radical realms between electronic music and sound design. Her Bleep mix is an excellent example of just how diverse and exciting this contemporary space is — and the avant-electronica names on the tracklist have featured heavily on our turntables too. The earthquaking stomps of Tzusing’s ‘Shame’ morph perfectly and noisily into the sharp Farsi rhymes of Loraine James and Tardast’s track ‘Marg’, as Venus Ex Machina selects two experimental dub nightmares from Hyph11e before simmering down with the grizzled synth wash of Mica Levi’s ‘Guerreros’.
